  Caution for Buyers at Taylor Estates – Material Verification, Administrative Delays & Management Response ​Review: Sharing our documented experience purchasing at Taylor Estates with DRB Homes so prospective buyers can make an informed decision: ​Unverified Inventory & 5-Week Delay: On June 26, 2026, we selected our exterior brick option (Silverado) with our site sales agent, Juan. Over the following five weeks, we completed two design appointments and submitted two non-refundable deposits under the assumption our selections were secured. Only THE DAY AFTER after our deposit checks cleared were we informed the brick was unavailable and out of stock. Construction staff later confirmed that another buyer in the community had previously selected the same brick and was also unable to receive it. ​Active Website Listing: As of August 2026, despite corporate management confirming the brick is unavailable, Silverado remains listed as an active, selectable option on DRB Homes’ portal for prospective buyers. ​Communication & Escalate Refusals: When we raised concerns regarding the five-week delay, our sales agent repeatedly declined requests to provide supervisor/area manager contact information and threatened daily $250/day delay fees for scheduling issues outside our control. ​Management Response: Upon contacting the Area Manager, Robin, independently, local management declined to provide a timeline of when vendor shortages were known, declined to assign a new primary point of contact, and stated no goodwill credit or accommodation would be offered. ​Prospective buyers should ensure all material selections are verified in writing prior to submitting non-refundable deposits and be aware of how communication delays and disputes are handled at this location.

  Warranty rep refuses to cover multiple violations and instead stated "Lets just make it super simple for you, we are not replacing the paver. Do you understand?" Would avoid going with them unless you're prepared to fight any issues.

  strongly encourage anyone considering building with Brightland Homes in the Dallas area to be very cautious especially when it comes to understanding their warranty process. As I approached my 12-month walkthrough, I made sure to have a professional inspection completed. The inspection revealed a number of issues that needed attention. Unfortunately, instead of support, I was met with resistance. Steven has not been helpful in addressing these concerns. Rather than taking responsibility or guiding me through the warranty process, they simply dismissed the majority of the items and claimed that nothing on my list was covered. I was even directed to contact third-party vendors myself, which defeats the purpose of having a builder warranty. This experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Homeownership should come with some level of peace of mind, especially within the first year, and that has not been my experience with Brightland Homes. In contrast, I also own a home built by Shaddock Homes, and the difference is night and day. Even after a year, their team has remained responsive, helpful, and genuinely caring when it comes to addressing concerns. I regret choosing Brightland Homes and would not recommend them based on my experience. Buyers deserve better communication, accountability, and support especially when legitimate issues are identified within the warranty period
