strongly encourage anyone considering building with Brightland Homes in the Dallas area to be very cautious especially when it comes to understanding their warranty process. As I approached my 12-month walkthrough, I made sure to have a professional inspection completed. The inspection revealed a number of issues that needed attention. Unfortunately, instead of support, I was met with resistance. Steven has not been helpful in addressing these concerns. Rather than taking responsibility or guiding me through the warranty process, they simply dismissed the majority of the items and claimed that nothing on my list was covered. I was even directed to contact third-party vendors myself, which defeats the purpose of having a builder warranty. This experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Homeownership should come with some level of peace of mind, especially within the first year, and that has not been my experience with Brightland Homes. In contrast, I also own a home built by Shaddock Homes, and the difference is night and day. Even after a year, their team has remained responsive, helpful, and genuinely caring when it comes to addressing concerns. I regret choosing Brightland Homes and would not recommend them based on my experience. Buyers deserve better communication, accountability, and support especially when legitimate issues are identified within the warranty period

Brightland Homes defaulted buyer due to employer refusal to verify unpaid leave – earnest money kept even though buyer cooperated with lender

Awful experience during the build process with tons of issues, including building code violations. Many of the issues along the way were resolved, but now, after closing, they now refuse to fix water damage issues in my bathroom. The warranty you sign essentially says they can refuse to fix whatever they want. The wall next to my shower have mold on them due to their shoddy building quality. My home is only 6 months old, and there's already mold issues. I have submitted multiple warranty requests regarding this only for all of it to get rejected. What's the point of having a warranty when they can reject whatever they want?

We are the home buyers but they never informed us about the closing date. The salesman Mike kept changing the closing dates without letting us know. They just chose whatever day convenient for them, not for the buyer. Whenever they had to push the monthly sales target, they would rush you to close right away. They forced us to close at 6pm on Sep 28 while they didn't finish the major repairs until 5:30pm that day. Then they rushed us to sign the final walk through just 30 minutes before the closing time. The craftsmanship is extremely poor such as: the wall textures were poorly sprayed, the walls were bulging, wall paint color were mismatched with different colors while it wasn't supposed to. We've felt like we were discriminated because we are not white and English is not our mother language, so they thought we wouldn't be able to do anything to them. After closing, it's extremely difficult to contact them and they just disappeared. We tried calling them at least 10 times and got transferred to some department and they never answered the phone, and never got back to us. We only got a call back from their warranty department, and they didn't even want to know what our issues were. They told us to wait for at least 60 days after closing to request a repair for any remaining unfinished issues with the house. We didn't even know where our mailbox was until 3 weeks after the closing. We had to ask our neighbors where they picked up their mail to figure out ours. Never get yourself into these hassles. When we wrote this review originally on Oct 6, they (Brightland Homes) asked us to email them our house info so that they can look into it. We did send them an email on Oct 7, 2023. As of today Oct 29, 2023, we have NOT heard back from them, even an apology.
