Brandy, James and Robert of Southern Electric of TN replaced the breaker box, installed an outlet and updated the exterior electric at the meter outside. They arrived on time and were very professional. We were very grateful they finished in a timely fashion as not be without air conditioning too long. We would definitely used them again. Thank you Southern Electric of TN for a job well done!

If I could give them more stars I would! Our church had issues with our lighting system that had become obsolete and the company had gone out of business. I was frantically trying to find options to fix it and Southern was one of the companies that responded. They were willing to go above and beyond what I expected in order for us to not have a dark auditorium for worship 2 weeks in a row. They will be my first call from now on whenever we have an issue! Please let them help you. They are knowledgeable and trustworthy!

Jay found discovered what I had overlooked in the circuit breakers. However, he also checked the outlet and found a stripped screw. After reorienting the outlet to allow the stove to be plugged in without bending the cord 180 degrees he pointed out that there was an issue with the stove and it should not be plugged in before it is repaired. He showed me exactly what he was telling me throughout the visit.

Frequently Asked Questions About Southern Electric of TN, Inc

Is there a difference between a fuse and a circuit breaker?

Both fuses and circuit breakers serve the same purpose of stopping electrical flow when a problem is detected. The key difference is that fuses must be replaced after they trip, while circuit breakers can simply be reset without replacement. For additional questions about your home's electrical system, contact the experienced electrical contractors at Southern Electric of TN, Inc.

What is a GFCI outlet?

A GFCI outlet protects you from electrical shock in areas where moisture may be present. These outlets can detect current changes as small as 0.0006 amperes and immediately cut power, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. They should be installed in wet locations including unfinished basements, garages, and areas within six feet of sinks, kitchens, or bathrooms. GFCI outlets are recognizable by their two buttons labeled "test" and "reset." For questions about GFCI outlets or to schedule electrical repair service, contact Southern Electric of TN, Inc today for a free estimate.
