- SCS CheonJul 26, 20265.0They were able to get us a quote on a bathroom remodel. Even though we ended up finding a leak and a ton of damage inside the wall and subfloor, we were able to finish and get everything done. My husband and I are very pleased and would recommend them to anyone who needs some work done.

- RMRebecca McKeeDec 2, 20225.0Once again In Side and Out Home Improvements has come to the rescue and Mr. Martin and his team have done an excellent job installing my new hot water heater and designing a much nicer platform for the heater to sit on which far more professional than the original builder installed when my home was built. Thank you again Mr. Martin to you and your team for a job well done.
- RMRebecca McKeeOct 30, 20225.0Rick and his crew did an excellent job on my kitchen remodel. Each and every one of them took pride in their work. Rick is a very honest Christian man and very fair in his pricing . Thank you Rick Martin for a job well done ! May God Bless You !
Frequently Asked Questions About Inside & Out Home Improvement
When is the best time to remodel?
Late winter and early spring are often recommended as fewer homeowners undertake projects then, potentially leading to greater contractor availability. However, the ideal time can also depend on the scope of your project. For example, summer might be suitable for fireplace updates, while winter is better for foundation work.
How do I prepare for a remodeling project?
Create a detailed budget: This will help you stay on track financially.
Develop a timeline: Discuss this with your contractor to have clear expectations.
Prepare the space: This might involve tarping furniture or removing belongings from the work area.
Should home remodeling contractors be licensed or certified?
Yes, most states, including Tennessee, require home remodeling contractors to be licensed. Hiring a licensed contractor helps ensure quality work and protects you from potential code violations. Look for the 'Angi Approved' badge or verify licenses with the Tennessee Board for Licensing Contractors.
Do I need home renovation insurance?
This type of insurance, sometimes called 'dwelling under renovation coverage' or 'builder's risk insurance,' can cover damages during the remodeling process. Check with your homeowner's insurance provider to see if your policy includes this or if it's available as an add-on.
What kind of warranty should I expect?
Reputable contractors typically offer a warranty on their workmanship. Homeway Construction, for example, offers a one-year craftsman warranty. Ensure you understand the terms and what is covered.
Can I live in my home during remodeling?
This depends on the extent of the remodel. For significant kitchen or bathroom renovations, it might be inconvenient or impossible to live comfortably at home. Discuss this with your contractor to understand the potential disruptions.
What unexpected costs might arise?
Hidden issues like damaged plumbing, leaks, wood rot, or structural problems can sometimes be discovered during a remodel, impacting the budget and timeline. It's wise to have a contingency fund for such unforeseen circumstances.
