I have a wayne dalton garage torsion bar for my garage door, all the other garage companies would not touch it and said it needed to be changed to a conventional spring system even though the torsion bar was fine, Thor garage looked at it and found the original installer put it in backwards. Thank you Thor garage for being honest fixing my garage door with out trying to overcharge me by having me replace parts that work fine.

Joseph and Chet really did outstanding work on replacing the metal wrap on our garage door frames. They also went out of their way to replace some rotted wood that we knew was under the old skin. Highly recommend Thor for any garage door anyone may need done!!!!
Frequently Asked Questions About Thor Garage Doors
Why did my garage door spring break?
Garage door springs typically break due to several factors including regular wear and tear, insufficient maintenance, corrosion, incorrect installation, significant temperature changes, or the use of lower-quality springs. These springs play a vital role in balancing the door's weight, and their failure can result in a heavy or non-functional door.
Why did my garage door opener stop working?
A garage door opener may cease to function for various reasons. These can include issues with the power supply, faulty remote controls or wall switches, misaligned or obstructed sensors, worn-out motor components, or general deterioration over time.
What happens if I am stuck inside my garage?
If you find yourself trapped in your garage due to a malfunctioning door, locate the emergency release cord. This cord is typically suspended from the opener motor. Pulling it will disengage the door from the opener, allowing you to manually open or close the door.
What to do if my rollers are loud?
Noisy rollers often indicate a need for lubrication or replacement. Applying an appropriate garage door lubricant to the rollers, hinges, and tracks can significantly reduce noise and improve operation. If the noise persists after lubrication, it may signal more serious issues such as worn bearings or damaged parts, which should be examined by a professional technician.
What should I do if my garage door tracks need to be aligned?
Misaligned garage door tracks can cause uneven operation or door jamming. It's advisable to avoid attempting track realignment yourself as it can be hazardous and potentially cause further damage. Professional technicians possess the expertise and tools necessary to correctly adjust the tracks and ensure safe, smooth door operation.
What should I do if my garage door sensors don't work?
Malfunctioning garage door sensors can prevent proper door closure or cause unexpected reversals. First, ensure the sensors are correctly aligned and free from dirt or obstructions, cleaning them gently if needed. If issues persist, it's recommended to have a professional technician inspect, realign, or replace the sensors to restore proper functionality and safety.
When do I need to replace my garage door bottom weatherstripping seal?
The need to replace your garage door's bottom weatherstripping seal can be identified by various signs of wear and tear. Look for cracks or fractures in the material, often caused by heavy use or extreme temperatures. Some materials may deteriorate over time due to exposure to water, temperature fluctuations, and sunlight. If the seal has warped or lost its shape, creating gaps, it's likely no longer effective against water, debris, and pests, indicating a need for replacement.
What should I do if my garage door opener remote or transmitter is not working correctly?
If your garage door remote or transmitter is malfunctioning, start by checking and replacing the batteries if necessary. Ensure the remote is within range of the opener and that no obstacles are blocking the signal. If these steps don't resolve the issue, further troubleshooting may be required.
What should I do if my garage door doesn't open or close properly?
Improper opening or closing of your garage door may be due to issues with spring tension, track alignment, opener motor problems, or sensor malfunctions. It's important to note that attempting to diagnose and fix these issues without proper expertise and equipment can be dangerous and may lead to further damage. Professional assistance is recommended for safe and effective resolution of these problems.
