  So I had a toilet that had become nearly impossible to flush. My landlord was out of the country and told me to call a plumber. I'm new to Nashville so I looked at the reviews and choose Holt because it had high reviews and was the closest to me. Big mistake. The plumber came in and "fixed" the problem. Before he left I went to check and though the toilet was a little easier to flush it still took some effort and I told him so but hey I'm just a 65 year old woman what do I know? I went ahead and paid the $177.00 it cost for the work and the $4.00 part he put into the toilet. Well the toilet continued to be difficult to flush and finally the plastic handle broke off just 2 weeks later. So I again had this same plumber come out to repair the repair. Well he blamed me saying we were using too much force. Not so we have 2 of the same toilets in the house and they are not a problem. Well he charged me another $177.00 to fix the original problem and the now broken handle. He made it very clear that he felt like he fixed the problem the first time and that the flushing problem caused the handle to break was because I was to rough flushing the toilet. Sorry but I don't have that much strength in my arms to cause a handle to break off since I had a stroke 2 years ago. I paid the $177.00 for the second less than 20 minute repair. But I will never use this plumber again. I have also told my landlord and he says he won't use them in any of his 5 properties. My oldest daughter owns 2 properties in Madison and East Nashville and she won't ever use them. It's not like they came out in the middle of the night, on a weekend, or holiday. It was done nothing times during the week in the early afternoon. I'm very unsatisfied. Sincerely, Laura Burk

  Unreliable. Had them out three times to fix the same issue. No guarantee in their work.

  I contacted Holt Plumbing for a yard drainage issue because I had used them in the past and had very good experience. When I scheduled the visit, I was quoted a certain amount for the first hour and then an hourly rate after that, which I agreed to. Once the technicians arrived and looked at the issue, they asked if I wanted them to jet the French drain to see if that would clear the problem. I agreed, assuming this would fall under the service call/rates that had already been discussed. What caught me completely by surprise was finding out afterward that there was a separate $695 base charge for jetting the French drain. The drain they worked on was less than about 8 feet long, and the entire visit was roughly 15–20 minutes. They did not bother to put back the drain cap and left it worse than what it was before. My issue isn't that there was a charge for the work — it's that the $695 charge was not clearly communicated to me before I agreed to have it done. Had I been told upfront, I could have made an informed decision about whether I wanted to proceed. Paying nearly $700 for such a short visit felt like a punch in the gut, especially when I thought I had already agreed to the pricing structure beforehand. I’ve had good experiences with Holt in the past, which made this particularly disappointing. I would strongly suggest that any additional flat-rate charges like this be clearly disclosed and approved by the customer before the work begins.

  David and Ryan were amazing putting in my water heater and expansion tank. They worked very fast, were clean in the work area and took everything away. Super friendly and knowledgeable. I love Holt and would recommend to anyone.
