We had RetroFoam do spray foam insulation in our new build home out in Kodak, TN. They were super professional, always cleaned up each day on the job and cleaned ensured we were satisfied before finishing up. Pricing was competitive and am very happy with their work! Highly recommend to any friends and family!

I've waited over a year before reviewing to get a good idea of how Retrofoam was working for my home. I had only the exterior walls done in my older home that has plaster walls. I haven't seen any real movement in my electric bill or felt a huge difference in how cool/toasty my rooms feel throughout the seasons. I've owned the house for 9 years. I was concerned about wall cracks but was assured my plaster walls shouldn't be an issue. Cracks have formed in most all my exterior walls since Retrofoam was installed. I used reviews as part of my research before I ordered the service. I was surprised on installation day to find out there was a $60 incentive for leaving reviews (which i didn't accept because i didn't know how I felt about the service yet). I became skeptical since customer feedback was a big part of why I decided to move forward. However, I had made a non-refundable deposit, workers were in the yard and minutes from getting started. I decided to cross my fingers and hope it worked. Everyone was very nice, the crew worked diligently and left the house/yard in great shape. Looking back though, I haven't seen any real benefit and wish I'd never done it.

I couldn't have used a better company for our insulation job. Eddie and the crew from RetroFoam of East Tennessee were very professional and friendly. The guys were knowledgeable and informative of what they were doing and any safety precautions we needed to know. They made sure to put down protective plastic before they started and cleaned up after they were finished. I would higly recommend Eddie and the crew from RetroFoam of East Tennessee.

Frequently Asked Questions About RetroFoam of East Tennessee

How does the RetroFoam-licensed installer know when a wall cavity is completely full of foam?

By timing the cavity fill, methodically placing the insertion holes, and providing back-pressure on the insertion hole, we are able to ensure a cavity is completely full. We are as concerned with overfilling.

RetroFoam contains water when it is first installed. Where does it go? Will it damage the walls?

Initial water content of the foam is approximately 4% by volume, too low to affect a building's structure. The partially open-cell nature of the foam means the insulation dries out quickly (in approximately two to three weeks) and once dry, RetroFoam resists re-absorption of water. In most cases, the foam dries out before mold can grow. Additionally, prior to insulation, a technician will assess your home for existing moisture issues that could extend dry time.
