I recently had a boat lift installed by Ryan and the team at Cumberland Marine Works, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. From the initial consultation through the final installation, Ryan was professional, knowledgeable, and responsive to every question I had.
The crew worked efficiently, paid attention to every detail, and completed the installation with a high level of craftsmanship. They took the time to ensure everything was properly aligned, operating correctly, and ready for use before leaving the dock.
What impressed me most was their commitment to customer service and communication throughout the project. It’s clear that Ryan and his team take pride in their work and genuinely care about their customers.
If you're looking for a boat lift, dock work, or marine services on Old Hickory Lake, I highly recommend Cumberland Marine Works. Ryan and his team delivered a quality product, professional installation, and an outstanding customer experience. 5⭐️

I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience with Ryan and his team has been incredibly disappointing. We purchased a used lift in late 2024. Upon installation, I noted the lift was set significantly higher than others at our marina. The installer dismissed my concerns, claiming it was "supposed to be that way."
As a result, the lift was unusable. By the following season, my wife and I (both seniors) couldn't even get the boat off the lift without help. The improper height caused the boat to get stuck and tore the bunk carpet.
When I asked Ryan to fix the initial poor installation, he initially tried to charge me. After weeks of back-and-forth, he finally agreed to a no-charge correction. However, he delayed for a month until the water levels dropped, making the fix impossible at that time. Even though his own installer admitted the lift was set too high, Ryan has now reneged on his word and sent an invoice for $565 to finish the job. When I voiced my frustration and said I would give a negative review, he said I threatened him and told me to "lose his number."
They do not stand behind their work and their communication is unprofessional. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. Just read Ryan's counter review. Not true. Never cussed him or his crew out, the only threat was a review, and never even talked to him after his crew came back out and told me just call when the water was up and we will come back out. Bottom line the lift was installed improperly and can't get the boat off. His installer even told me the lift was set too high, my fault too??? (and yes true).
I didn't know the water was down at the time he sent his guy's, BTW he put me off until they had another job in the area, so not 6 hours, and if you are coming direct, it's 2 hours (google maps). Ryan told me when he sold us the lift this was in his service area, guess he made the sale.
At least be honest, and if you can't do that at least try to stand behind your work and you won't have to make up stories to suit your narrative!!!
