We used Active Heating Inc. in Watertown as part of a complete bathroom remodel for a custom walk-in shower project, and the experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish.
We met with their staff to carefully design every detail of the shower including the colors, hardware, handles, shelving, and finishes. After finalizing everything, it took OVER FIVE MONTHS for the materials to arrive. Then, when the installers finally showed up, the custom shower floor pan was the WRONG COLOR.
At that point, after waiting so long already, we felt pressured to accept it because we were told it would take another couple of months to reorder the correct one. That is unacceptable for a project of this cost and size.
The problems didn’t stop there. When it came time to install the toilet, the plumber informed us there was a 5.5-inch gap between the toilet tank and the wall because the toilet would not sit back far enough. His response was basically that there were no good options unless we wanted to rip up the flooring again.
What’s frustrating is that the previous toilet sat correctly against the wall, so why was this issue not identified during the planning, measuring, or bidding stage BEFORE the flooring and installation were completed?
We spent a substantial amount of money on this remodel and expected much more attention to detail, communication, and quality control. Waiting months for incorrect materials and then being left with obvious installation issues is extremely disappointing.
