  Our air unit was not cooling, technician comes out says coolant, was leaking and it would cost X to replace coils or we would need a new unit. We had another company to come out which advised the coolant was low he added coolant, stated there were some installation issues that needed to be fix. Total cost less than 5K which is a lot cheaper than a new unit costing 15K or more. Coils did not need replacing, just coolant added, some issues with the original installation which was also corrected. House is less than 7 years old and a top brand so thankful for a 2nd opinion.

  We called Preferred Home Service the morning of 8/17 and explained our situation of lighting strikes in the area damaging our water heater Sunday evening, which they responded in a timely manner setting up a service order. That same day, they called to let us know that the technician was on his way. Alec arrived shortly afterwards and he did a great job. He was friendly, professional, provided the information necessary for us to make a decision to replace our water heater. We did so and had hot water that afternoon. We appreciate Preferred Home Services and Alec for taking care of us. I would recommend this company should you need service as we had a great experience.

  I wasted most of my morning communicating back and forth with a person named Hailey. I'm guessing she's very young and inexperienced. She was supposed to schedule someone to come out and do a repair for me. I gave them explicit instructions and details about what was going on. In the end after many back and forth wasted text messages, not even the decency to give me a call, I ended up canceling them because the effectiveness of communication was absolutely abysmal. They wanted to send someone out to my home, interrupt my day and waste my time to do repair work they couldn't do. And on top of that they wanted to charge me $89 for a diagnostic fee when I had already given them the diagnostic and specified exactly what needed to be done.

  After finding out we had several water leaks under our house, We called Preferred, We had Bryan come the same day, that afternoon He located our problem, show us on video, And gave us three options to get repairs done, After speaking with him, We felt confident in repairing the whole house & yard at this stage, We had a absolute wonderful and professional team show up the next morning 8:00 am ready to replace the whole house water lines were done, They were all through our home, And was so polite and professional, enjoyed the company, along with the work being done, The job was completed in 5 hours the whole house and yard hook up's! The team was Chris, Bryan, Garrett, Mac, Porter, Issac! They were a wonderful team of young men! The whole experience was joyable! This is the 4 or 5 times use Preferred For major job's & we'll always call them! Thank you all for a Great job!

  ZERO STARS!! Double charged for Diagnostic fee, complete rip off. I placed an offer on a home and had a home inspection completed. The inspector clearly noted the front (2) bedrooms were not getting the correct air flow to cool the rooms, keep in mind the rooms are 10x10 and a outdoor hose could cool these rooms. The seller called Preferred Home Services to come out and fix the issue, and they charged her the $89.00 diagnostic fee. They determined there was nothing wrong with the cooling in those 2 rooms and left. We took their word for it, closed on the house and immediately upon moving in we could tell the temperature is 4-5 degrees different in these 2 rooms. I called Preferred Home Services today as a call back so they could come out and fix the issue, and they proceeded to tell me I needed to pay the diagnostic fee. I explained the situation and told them the previous owner just paid it, and this is a call back and needs repair (I was not asking for repair to be call back, just diagnostic fee). They proceeded to tell me I was the new homeowever and it could not be a call back bc I've never had a service call and we went round and round and round they would not budge. I understand if repairs needed to be completed that I would have to pay at this point as we closed already on the house. So many issues there in itself, if they would've inspected properly the seller would've paid these repair costs and I wouldn't be out of pocket again for another unexpected expense that was supposed to be taken care of in our negotiations. The least they could've done was waived the diagnostic fee bc they certainly didn't fix anything on the first service call. I've owned and operated a service business for the last 30+ years, we also deal with new owners all the time and would never recharge them this fee if we were just out at the residence and didn't do our job properly to begin with! So disappointed with the company!!
