Maddie was a delight to work with and truly "knows her stuff". She Patiently problem-solved regarding our fountain, developed pricing options for repair vs replacement of our sink, and evaluated other replacements needs down the road. Scheduling was a little confusing. Even after we thought we had a confirmed appointment, we kept getting messages to Confirm the appointment. Rather annoying/ confusing

I've had a very positive experience with Preferred Home Svc over the years, including the recent installation of a new HVAC system. There was no hard sell but good advice. The technicians have all been knowledgeable and friendly. My recent interaction with Project Manager Mike Futeral was informative, thorough, and enjoyable. I feel I have established a good rapport with the company and am confident of their services.

I would not recommend them for any services. I notified them due to waking up with no hot water on Mother's Day. We emailed each other because I was unable to talk over the phone at the time. I asked how much is their service call? I was told there's no fee to come out and if they do a diagnostic, it would be $59. I set up the appointment for them to come out. The technician, Jacob and his helper, came out. And after speaking for a few minutes, he advised he was going to check the water pressure and other things and would get back with me in about ten minutes. When he came in he proceeded to tell me the life expectancy of a hot water heater. And then showed me a list of what the charges would be for each service from a more thorough diagnostic to replacement. At no time did he advise me what is wrong with the water heater. The only thing he told me was the pressure was 68 PSI. I asked him about the diagnostic results. He stated in order to get a thorough diagnostic. He would have to go in and look at the elements and the different components and that charge would be $499. I told him that's not what was discussed when I made the appointment. Nevertheless, I told him, let me go ahead and pay the $59 and that would be it. I decided to contact Youtube University. ( I really wish I had done that first.) The problem was as simple as hitting the reset button on the water heater. In all Jacob's testing, he never once checked to see if power was going into the water heater. He looked at the electrical panel, and that was pretty much it. So I say all of this to say this company is a ripoff. They weren't interested in the simple diagnostic of the power being off on the unit. That lets me know they were more interested in a sale. They were focused on making thousands of dollars instead of a minor repair. I would not recommend them to anyone...

In a pinch, we have called a preferred over the years for residential and commercial. The nice thing about them is that they come right away. But what we’ve learned about them with HVAC electrical plumbing etc. is that they are a total rip off. They literally charge four times what the price should be. And sadly, they’re very successful so I assume that the average homeowner or business owner maybe doesn’t realize it. But once again they came today and tried to charge us an astronomical price for something because they know that it’s a bit of an emergency. Never ever ever again.

Mike Lewis with Preferred Home Services is the greatest! He helped me years ago when both of my a/c units died in the middle of summer. He gave piece of mind during a stressful time. Fast forward a few years and I had to make an emergency call to Preferred again for a flooded garage! To my relief it was Mike Lewis who was on call and not only did he assess and fix the situation that same evening but he also provided an awesome recommendation for a trustworthy restoration company to help me. The well rounded knowlege and professionalism in customer care is top notch and I'll never go with anyone else!!
