I’m giving Carolina Heating Service 5stars based on services provided by Tylan. He very quickly found the problem with the thermostat setting and the actual temp in our upstairs room. This is an issue we had called attention to on our last 2 maintenance visits and it continued for over a yr, esp thru this brutal summer. The night after he was here, my daughter claimed it was the best sleep she had in ages with the room temp equal to the setting on the thermostat.

Carolina Heating just performed the periodic maintenance at my house. I had been a long time customer so this was pretty routine. However, this visit was far from routine. One of the outputs from a periodic maintenance is a System Report Card. He completed a System Report Card. I have 2 units, and he only had 1 copy of the report card, so he didn’t fill out any information on the 2nd unit. He projected an attitude of “oh well” 🤷🏼‍♂️. He had numerous recommended further actions to take. Each had hefty price tags. I recognize that they are in business to generate more business, but this was ridiculous for a system that had been routinely maintained since installation. The straw that broke the camel’s back: For years, I have had them replace the furnace filter on the air exchanger in the attic at the time of the scheduled periodic maintenance. This time, when I asked to confirm that he changed the filter (I hadn’t noticed him carry one up), he responded “we don’t do furnace filters anymore.” What!?! They surely don’t expect their customer to climb up into the attic to replace a furnace filter. I couldn’t believe my ears. He then provided me a quote to have someone come out again to replace it. That was it. I decided right then I was canceling my service plan with them. Tye next day I had a different, local company come out to “give a second opinion. That’s when I learned of some of the sloppy work practices from the day before. For starters, the power disconnect for the outside units were left out of the box. No wonder the house felt warm inside. Also, the caps to the service port on the Heat Pump were loose. These findings confirmed my decision to make a change.

Carolina Heating Service came to our rescue recently when our tankless water heater went out. David came quickly the day I called and spent hours in the hot sun trying to diagnose the issue. We ended up being without hot water for a week until the issue could be fixed but they did the research and determined that the water heater was still under warranty for the main cause of the issue. I would definitely call them again for service!

Our Generac generator at house unexpectedly shut down during power outage from storms in wee hours Tuesday morning 8/17...had no clue whom to call & then Google search turned up this company. Quick phone call & technician dispatched next day. Conner (his first name) was fantastic. Diagnosed problem immediately, fixed the damaged part, got it running again. Super friendly & knowledgeable too.

I had an AC exchanger fail Saturday night. I called Sunday morning and they were there within a couple hours. The tech was professional and knew what he was doing. He quickly opened up the unit and found the dead capacitor causing the problem. He then proceeded to quote me $800 for a replacement. This is far more than this part cost. I ended up buying one at Home Depot and replacing it myself for $20. I can understand having to pay a premium for weekend service and I probably would have been fine if he'd quoted $200, but that price was so insanely high that I cannot in good conscience recommend this company to anyone. My tech was great and the service fast, but the company really tried to gouge me on parts.
