Had low water flow problems and the guys came out to investigate. They were very thorough and explained things to me the whole way and were able to fix it on the same day. I couldn’t be more pleased with how this all went down.
I would highly recommend Travers to anyone looking to have their septic tank pumped! From start to finish they were phenomenal and a pleasure to do business with. They were able to get my appointment scheduled quickly and easily. They called the day before to confirm the appointment. The day of, the gentleman showed up, got the septic tank pumped and cleaned up, and was out of here within 30 minutes. By far the quickest and efficient I've experienced.
I will continue to use Travers for all my plumbing needs. Thank you for your service!!!!
Quick, Spotless, and Trustworthy!.
Fantastic experience from start to finish for septic pump-out service.
The technician found the access lid right away, kept the area completely tidy, and wrapped up the job in under half an hour. No surprise charges, no aggressive upselling—just fair, upfront pricing.
Since I trust their service, they've earned a lifelong customer for not only septic pumping service but heating and plumbing related services as well.
I have been using Travers Plumbing for my septic needs for many years, long before the company grew to where it is today. Throughout the years, I have always been treated with kindness and professionalism by the office staff, (Erika), as well as by Mr. Travers (Ron) whenever he comes to my home.
They have consistently been honest, trustworthy, reliable, and dependable. Their commitment to providing excellent service has never wavered, and I have always felt confident knowing that my septic needs were in good hands.
I would highly recommend Travers Plumbing to anyone looking for a company they can trust. They are a wonderful company to work with, and I truly appreciate the service they have provided to me over the years.

Avoid Travers Plumbing if you value fair pricing.
I called Travers Plumbing to repair a small leak under my kitchen sink in Newport. When I spoke with Erika, I was told the charge would be $175 for the first hour (including travel time) and $125 per hour thereafter, per plumber. She also said the plumber was already in Newport and would come over after finishing his current job.
A couple of hours later, Erika called to say the plumber was on the way, which is when my billable time supposedly began. Despite being “already in Newport,” it took another 45 minutes for the crew to arrive.
What surprised me most was that two plumbers showed up—a senior plumber and a trainee—for a simple braided hose replacement. I was expecting to pay for 2 plumbers if the job warranted two people, which this clearly didnt. After a brief inspection, they determined the braided hose needed to be replaced and said the part was on their truck. Instead, they left to get the part and didn’t return for about 90 minutes.
During that time, I called Erika twice. On the first call, she couldn’t tell me where the plumbers had gone. On the second, she said I would be charged for both plumbers because that how many arrived, regardless of the job size. I explained that it was unreasonable to bill a customer for on-the-job training on a straightforward repair. Rather than address my concerns, she became argumentative, insisted I was responsible for whatever charges accumulated, referenced the recorded phone call, and ultimately hung up on me.
About 30 minutes later, Erika called back to say the owner had agreed to charge for only one plumber instead of two.
When the plumbers finally returned, they completed the repair in less than 30 minutes and told me the owner wouldnt let them go to Ace even though it was 3 blocks from my house. Rather, they went to Middletown and took 90 minutes to return.
On the positive side, they plumbers were courteous, professional, and did quality work. My issue is not with them—it is with the company’s billing practices and customer service.
Two days later I received my invoice: $540. This was after the owner reduced the labor charge, the original bill would have been $964 for what amounted to a very small repair and less than one hour of actual in home work.
I have no problem paying fair rates for skilled tradespeople. However, charging for lengthy travel and parts runs, assigning two plumbers to a simple job when not necessary, attempting to bill for both while one was being trained, and the way my concerns were handled left me feeling that the pricing was very excessive and that Erika’s natural disposition is combative and argumentative.
Based on my experience, I strongly recommend getting at least one or two additional estimates before hiring Travers Plumbing.
