    Selected G.E.M. for new Carrier central a/c unit and air handler expecting premium service would be delivered commensurate with their premium price quote (highest of 4 vendors) and promises. They’ve been awful. Rescheduled 1st 2 and install appts (1st because Carrier unit had to be obtained from NH; second due to installers calling in sick). 3rd time they showed but weren’t told that contract also included installation of an additional air duct so job wasn’t completed as contracted on first attempt. However, they were quick to send me their final invoice which also wasn’t correct along with auto-generated email overdue notices. Tim, in sales, is very good - he attempted recovery by offering additional (x2) years of maintenance and reduced our final invoice by another $500 However, as of this moment, our 4th scheduled appt to finally install the additional ductwork was a no-show yet again. Now I’m told that they will have to send someone to measure tomorrow before materials can be ordered for an install appt. A total disaster. Do NOT use this company for anything - they don’t deliver but you’ll pay top dollar for service they promise to deliver.

    Do not sign up for the membership plan. At no point in the several years of our being members, has there been one single advantage to this fee based club. Every single technician to our house has tried to charge an extra $199. for showing up in spite of the membership and each one lists all kinds of excuses why they need to charge more. So shady! We have no electricity on the top floor apartment of the house during the heatwave, it's 97 up there and will stay that way for the next several days because a GEM electrician wouldn't show up until we agreed to the fee. He even said it's waived for the elderly and after hearing the customer is 87 he then said oh then it's because it's a weekend. Some of the technicians are nice and do the job, some are incredibly dumb and several others have to come and fix what they never finished, it's hit or miss. During the pandemic getting them to wear masks was a fight! If you get the email saying it's time for yearly maintenance then they will charge for it in spite of the membership. One Inspector even manually shut off our entire Verizon Wifi system for no reason, just while he was in the room checking something else. Buy your own system filters online and learn how to change them out, or GEM will find a way to upcharge you. There's no such thing as a solid job well done.

    This review is based upon our recent individual experience with GEM Plumbing and Heating services, including plumbing repair provided by Chris Rogan and associates. We are evaluating their assigned performance, time of arrival, quality of estimate and price for a labor and material(s) as A+ rating.. We are left happy and highly satisfied with all Customer-centered terms provided by GEM's Technician Mr. Christopher Rogan, and GEM in general.. GEM and their Associates, and dispatch staff;s professional attitude to handle assigned tasks is astonishing. Thank you Mr. Chris Rogan and GEM Associates! Sandra Gene Happy Customers.

    I had been a customer of GEM for 8 years, had them install my mini split system and I have had a service plan the entire time which used to be good. Since they bought the Victory company they have gone downhill. Poor service, delays in service. Most recently the last 2 months they have rescheduled my annual tune-up 4 TIMES the day before the scheduled visit despite having a service plan. Each time telling me they had more important customers that need service. I spoke to a manager and asked for a credit on my plan for lack of contractual service and she never called me back, she also mentioned an excuse was she had been out for surgery recently, what does that have to do with their customers getting service? I guess they don't have any other managers in the company that can help long term customers. Stay away from GEM, you have been warned.

    I wish I could give 0 stars. Hired GEM to clean two mini splits. Made the appointment because they had the earliest available (this was for a rental property we own, occupied by a pregnant woman with an asthmatic child. We wanted them fully cleaned before they started using them for the season. First appointment was canceled without consulting me until after they took me out of the schedule. I called back and explained our urgency. I was rescheduled for a couple days later. Arrival time was 12 noon to 4 PM. GEM didn’t show up until after 7 PM. When they arrived, they agreed they needed to be cleaned, however, they didn’t have the proper cleaning materials with them. They would have to come back. It cost me almost $200 to hear what I already knew — they required cleaning. They said they could return three days later, and the cost estimate would be $1547. We asked how long the cleaning process would take. We were told two hours. So for almost $750 an hour, they were going to clean our machines. We did a little research and found out this should cost no more than $500. We canceled our appointment with GEM 48 hours before they were scheduled to return. The person we spoke to over the phone said that the deposit for the appointment, half of what they were estimating, would be returned to us within 3 to 5 business days. We received a call on the day of the appointment telling us she was incorrect and we were still going to be charged the deposit. What a disappointing experience. We will not be looking to GEM again for our home, businesses, or any of our rental properties.
