Frequently Asked Questions About Pezza Garage Doors
How often should I have my garage door serviced?
Annual servicing of your garage door is recommended to maintain its smooth and safe operation. This regular maintenance helps prevent potential issues and extends the life of your door system.
What are the signs that my garage door needs professional servicing?
Professional servicing may be necessary if you notice any of these signs: unusual or loud noises during operation, slower than normal movement, jerky or uneven motion, or visible wear on components such as springs, cables, or rollers.
What should I do if my garage door gets stuck halfway when closing?
If your garage door becomes stuck or reverses while closing, first check for any obstructions in its path. Ensure that nothing is blocking the safety sensors and verify that they are properly aligned with illuminated LED lights.
How can I increase the lifespan of my garage door system?
To extend the lifespan of your garage door system, implement regular maintenance practices. These include keeping the tracks clean, lubricating moving parts, and scheduling annual professional servicing.
What type of garage door opener is best suited for my needs?
The best garage door opener depends on your usage patterns. For those who frequently use their garage as the main entry point to their home, we recommend a belt drive opener for its durability and long-term performance.
How can I make my garage door more secure?
To enhance your garage door's security, consider installing a rolling code opener. This technology strengthens the door's resistance to forced entry and ensures that the emergency release cord cannot be accessed from outside.
How do I know if the springs on my garage door need to be replaced?
Indications that your garage door springs may need replacement include improper door opening, visibly broken springs, or a loud banging noise during operation. Due to the high risk of injury, spring replacement should always be performed by a professional.
What should I do if my garage door remote is not working?
When your garage door remote malfunctions, first check the batteries. Ensure there are no LED light bulbs near the garage door opener, as these can interfere with the signal. Be aware that seasonal decorations like Christmas lights may also cause interference.
How can I ensure my garage door operates smoothly during cold weather?
To maintain smooth operation in cold weather, regularly lubricate the moving parts of your garage door, including tracks and springs. Additionally, keep the tracks clear of ice and snow accumulation.
How do I prevent my garage door from making a lot of noise when opening and closing?
Excessive noise during garage door operation often indicates worn or damaged components such as rollers, hinges, or springs. Contact us to schedule a service appointment and inquire about our noise-reducing quiet close hinges.
