We recently completed a full first‑floor renovation with Spectrum Homes and Remodeling, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. From our first meeting with Craig on the sales side to working closely with Bart, our Project Manager, we felt confident, informed, and supported throughout the entire process. Their professionalism and communication set the tone for what turned out to be a truly outstanding renovation.
Our project was extensive — a complete kitchen remodel, a new butler’s pantry, updates to the dining room, living room, foyer and entryway, half bath, and laundry room. Spectrum coordinated a large number of specialists, including electricians, plumbers, siding and window experts, tile installers, custom cabinetry teams, appliance installers, and more. Every contractor who came through our home was punctual, respectful, and clearly held to a high standard of workmanship.
One of the most impressive aspects was how well the team managed the project timeline. They started and finished exactly when they said they would, even with the challenges of winter weather, snow, and ice. Despite the scale of the renovation, they kept us updated daily on progress, next steps, and any decisions that needed to be made. Their communication was proactive and transparent, which made the entire experience far less stressful than we expected.
The crew also did an excellent job maintaining cleanliness and minimizing disruption. Anyone who has lived through a major renovation knows how difficult that can be, but Spectrum’s team consistently cleaned up at the end of each day and treated our home with care.
The final result exceeded our expectations. The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and overall quality of the work are outstanding. Our first floor feels completely transformed, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out.
We highly recommend Spectrum Homes and Remodeling for any renovation project — large or small. Their professionalism, reliability, and quality of work are truly top‑tier. We would absolutely work with them again.
Move or renovate? We spent almost a year interviewing different builders/contractors and looking for land in our area as we worked through that decision. Ultimately, it made more sense to renovate our existing home and stay in a location that we loved. We chose Spectrum Homes and were not disappointed. Craig provided excellent feedback that sharpened our vision while also providing great ideas of his own. Our renovation included a beautiful kitchen addition that provided us with more space and functionality, a finished basement and a remodeled master bathroom. There were also a multitude of cosmetic improvements throughout the home. This was not an easy project by any means, but the design phase, selection process and remodel were done efficiently even through a very cold winter. Everyone we worked with- Craig, Vicki, Bart, and the rest of the team, genuinely cared about providing a great end result while also respecting our home as we continued to live here throughout the renovation.
Spectrum truly provides a custom home building experience-allowing the homeowners to pick and choose every detail. This was not a one stop shop for your selections but rather a very detailed process that included professionals that were knowledgable to their specific field to provide advice and direction throughout the renovation process. Because of this method and quality craftsmanship, Spectrum Homes was able to bring our vision into reality. We would definitely recommend their services!
Working with Spectrum Home and Remodeling has been an exceptional experience from start to finish. The entire remodeling process was made seamless thanks to the incredible team—Craig, Vicki, and Bart. Their professionalism, expertise, and dedication transformed our vision into a reality. The final results are absolutely stunning, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. Highly recommended!
We would not recommend Spectrum Homes in Whitehall PA to build a home. Once final payment was made, we felt they lost interest in our project & did not value us as customers, allowing warranty work to remain unfinished for over 1 year. With Spectrum and its subcontractors giving contradictory reasons for faults we feel their capabilities did not measure up to our project’s custom design including questionable levels of craftsmanship, lack of listening to our concerns, not following agreed upon plans, low attention to detail & little empathy.
Claiming a Total Quality Assurance Program stating they “care beyond the day you move in” to schedule warranty work within 30 days, have a final review within 11 months, & close our file in 12 months. None of these milestones were met for us.
We felt project management attention was lacking on the job site including:
• Installation of the wrong siding. They rectified this.
• Deck steps were missed. We noted & they were added at the last minute.
• A set of stairs was not painted. This was rectified after the owner conceded that it should have been done.
• Laundry plumbing & electrical rough in heights were mispositioned not accounting for appliance risers that were repeatedly mentioned & documented. They refuse to fix.
• Careless and sloppy “finish” work: partially caulked window; holes in shower grout; shower threshold pitched outward allowing water to run onto the bathroom floor; uneven kitchen & bath cabinet doors; poor cuts to outdoor deck; flooring miscuts without cover up; cracks, dings & unevenness to trim work; paint drips throughout & varnish spills left to dry on stairs.
Their disorganization, planning & promises that would change without notice, times of inflexible communication, “forgotten” discussions leading to multiple occasions of us having to provide documentation of contract agreements & email trails, poor warranty work including cost-cutting “fixes” led to our concerns & dissatisfaction with Spectrum Homes.
EDIT: May 2025 - We moved in 2 years ago in March. Every floor in our home is having an issue for several months. We must get our guest bath completely retiled (scheduled for June with an independent contractor) as the grout has come apart (See photos). All LVP flooring and subfloors under carpets creak. Paint on exterior doors is beginning to peel. (See photos). We had to pay for an independent electrician several months ago to spend 3.5 hours to go thru our entire kitchen to figure out why the power was out to all outlets. Loose wires in the kitchen island. This home build is abysmal for a new home only 2 years old.

I must start by saying that Spectrum Homes is amazing and I would recommend them to anyone considering doing a home renovation project! I am certain that I will not do them justice in my review however I’m going to try my best!
The project began with Brandon stopping at my home to discuss my needs, followed up by a visit with Ken (Spectrum Homes Owner) and Bart (my Construction Manager), they were helpful, patient and informative – I’ve never done this before!
Once I made my decision to work with the Spectrum Team and I signed the contract I picked out my kitchen cabinets from Morris Black (Christine was fantastic), countertops for the kitchen and bathroom from Eastern Surfaces, plumbing fixtures from Weinstein plumbing and tile from HWinter. They were all patient and helpful!
Actual project began in early 2022 and involved removing walls in my living room, dining room and kitchen to make it an open concept and a complete gut and remodel of my tiny master bathroom - each day the team cleaned up, covered up hardwood floors that were to remain to protect them and worked to minimize the dust as I was living in the home during my remodel.
Bart was my Construction Manager and I cannot say enough about him! He was so easy to work with, patient and quick to respond to any questions or concerns that I had! Ken and Brandon would also stop by periodically to see how things were going and make sure I was happy with the progress and to answer any questions.
As you can imagine, there were SO many people that worked on this project and while I cannot possibly remember all of them (forgive me if I’ve missed you as every person was an important part of this job) I am going to attempt to mention those that I worked with/were at my home most often.
** Bart’s Construction Team (Shayne, John, Tom and Anthony) professional, accommodating & hard working!
**Sharon & Vicki – the Design Consultants at Spectrum Homes
**Carlos – my painter
**Tom, Nick & Harold – hardwood flooring and restoration
**Tony - Crest Flooring
**Brian – Electrician Manager & his team
**Steve – Clim A Temp & his team
**Matt & Jeff – tile installation
**Plumbers – Kirk & Mark
In the end they left me with a beautifully remodeled home, one that I’ve been waiting for years to see done and I couldn’t be happier! I absolutely recommend the Spectrum Homes Team – you will be SO happy that you did!
