I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Wingertsahn Custom Builds & Finishes to anyone looking for custom work done right. I can’t say enough great things about Ted Wingertsahn and the custom cabinetry he masterfully created for my office. The final result truly exceeded my expectations and brought my vision to life in a way that was even better than I imagined!
Everything was completed within the expected timeline, and Ted was fantastic at communicating throughout the entire process. He made sure every detail was thoughtfully considered and executed exactly as planned, which made the project feel seamless and stress-free.
The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and professionalism were outstanding. I’m absolutely thrilled with how stunning the space turned out and can’t wait to work with Ted again on another project.

Top quality workmanship. Ted is meticulous about his work and a pleasure to work with. Not only is the backsplash perfect, my kitchen was cleaner than before he came. Highly recommend this company.

Ted did a complete remodel of our bathroom in our condo. Took out a hall closet and expanded the space to include a soaker tub and walk-in shower along with new toilet and vanity/lighted mirror and all fixtures. Tiled the entire floor and shower and added a backsplash to the vanity and tiled around the tub as well. We kept adding to the project - crown molding and upgrade baseboard - and all requests were handled with ease and skill.
Ted is extremely meticulous with his work, eager to please and is a great communicator. Always cleaned up thoroughly at the end of every day.
We’ve asked him to quote on more work. Strongly recommend!

Meticulous, professional and a pleasure to work with! Wingertsahn Custom Builds and Finishes did a perfect job refinishing our wood staircases to match our new wood floors and installing new wrought iron railings. He also stepped in and power washed and painted our front door area when another contractor did not show up. I truly cannot say enough good things about Ted and his work. He truly was a pleasure to work with and I have already recommended him to family and friends! I will definitely use Ted for any future projects as well!
Frequently Asked Questions About Wingertsahn Custom Builds & Finishes, LLC
How long does bathroom remodeling take?
Most bathroom remodels take 2-4 weeks depending on size and complexity. Timeline includes demolition, plumbing, electrical work, tiling, and fixture installation with proper curing time.
What flooring options work best for basements?
Vinyl plank, ceramic tile, and engineered hardwood resist moisture well in basements. We recommend moisture barriers and proper subfloor preparation for long-lasting results.
Can you remodel kitchens in older homes?
Yes, we specialize in updating kitchens in older homes. This often involves electrical upgrades, plumbing relocation, and structural modifications to accommodate modern layouts and appliances.
What affects interior remodeling costs most?
Material selection, room size, and structural changes drive costs most. Custom features, electrical or plumbing updates, and permit requirements also significantly impact your total investment.
Do I need permits for interior remodeling?
Major electrical, plumbing, or structural work typically requires permits in Washington and Pittsburgh areas. We handle permit applications and ensure all work meets local building codes.
How do I prepare for a remodeling project?
Clear the work area, set up temporary spaces for daily routines, and protect belongings. We'll provide specific preparation guidelines based on your project scope and timeline.
What's the difference between renovation and remodeling?
Renovation restores existing features, while remodeling changes layout or adds new elements. Remodeling typically involves more structural work and creates entirely new functional spaces.
When should I replace vs refinish hardwood floors?
Replace if boards are warped, extensively damaged, or worn below the nail line. Refinishing works when scratches are surface-level and wood thickness allows sanding.
Can interior railings be customized?
Yes, we create custom railings using various materials like wood, metal, and cable systems. Design options include traditional balusters, modern horizontal lines, or mixed material combinations.
Why choose professionals for basement finishing?
Professional basement finishing ensures proper moisture control, insulation, and code compliance. We handle electrical, HVAC integration, and structural considerations that DIY projects often miss.
