  Very disappointing experience with this masonry company. The crew was rude and disrespectful, failed to clean up after themselves, and showed little consideration for the neighbors, leaving people upset. Their prices aren’t cheap, and I expected much better professionalism and respect for the property and surrounding neighborhood. Cleaning up and treating people courteously should be basic expectations. Based on my experience, I would not recommend them.

  I would NOT recommend using Carl of 412 masonry or this contractor for the lack of dependability. These are the facts as follows: In March 2026 , Carl came to my home and reviewed my Lintel problem, supplied a quote by email (quote #141). Since then I would check in by calling or emailing both him or the company. No responses about the start of lintel replacement since that time. So, in August, I had to do a frantic search for a new reliable contractor before winter sets in. One star for the provided quote but minus 2 stars for non-reliability.

  TL;DR: 412 Masonry & Restoration replaced six window sills and six lintels on our house and repointed the entire front face of the house. They did a great job, and I would highly recommend them! Full review: We live in a brick rowhouse on an alley within city limits, so logistically, our house is a pretty tight squeeze and complicated to access, especially with trucks, scaffolding, and all the other equipment needed for the job. I knew it was going to be a lot of work in a small space, so I was pretty nervous going into this project. I shopped around and got about a half-dozen estimates. 412 Masonry & Restoration was fairly priced and, just as importantly, Carl and Frank were able to answer all of my questions before we got started. They obtained all of the required permits and handled the complicated logistics of the job professionally. They replaced six window sills and six lintels on our house and repointed the entire front face of the house. To be honest, the worst part of the entire experience was dealing with the electric company who-shall-not-be-named to get the power lines covered (it literally took months to get them to come out and cover the lines). Thankfully, Carl and Frank had dealt with them before and were flexible. Everything on the masonry side went about as smoothly as we could have hoped. At my request, they split the work into two sections, doing the back of the house first and the front a week later. Their total time on-site was just five days. During the actual work, Carl and Frank stayed in contact with us the entire time. They sent the same crew of guys every day, so we always knew who was showing up and what kind of work was being done. I can't say enough good things about how hard those guys worked or how much attention they paid to detail. It's clear they take pride in doing things right the first time. Masonry work is dusty and messy by nature, but the crew made a real effort to keep things under control. They cleaned up not only our property, but also did their best to clean up the neighboring properties and even the neighbors' cars. That kind of consideration really stood out to us. Overall, we couldn't be happier with the work and the experience. Everyone we dealt with was professional, responsive, and clearly took pride in their work (except the electric company). I'd absolutely recommend 412 Masonry & Restoration to anyone looking for masonry or restoration work.

  This is a complicated review to write because we had some high highs and some low lows with 412 Masonry. To start on a positive note, the crew working on our house was absolutely incredible. They worked tirelessly for a day and half and really knew what they were doing. Our home looks completely brand new while maintaining its original design, and they even cleaned up really well outside as they worked. We could not be happier with the end result of the actual work, and are so thankful to that talented group of guys. Additionally, Carl did a very thorough and comprehensive job on our estimate- we knew exactly what they would be working on, why, and how much it would cost. However, we experienced significant communication issues. First, I had some questions regarding financing options that went unanswered- I called three times, and emailed once. Secondly, my interactions with the owner were very upsetting. Soon after work began on our bricks, an exceptionally large amount of dust entered our home through an air return. Our smoke alarm went off, everything was covered in dust, my husband had to spend the morning wearing a mask, and my children (one of which has intense allergies) and I had to relocate. To mitigate this, I spoke with Frank (the owner) and politely asked if he had an air purifier we could borrow or if he could rent one for us. He was defensive, dismissive, argumentative, rude, and condescending. He refused to believe that that much dust entered our home, and told me I should’ve known it was a dusty job. He also accused me of not wanting to pay him because we hadn’t finalized the financing. I told him that no one had answered my financing questions yet, and he did not believe me that I contacted them and did not get a response. His receptionist later communicated to me that he would agree to rent us an air purifier once our financing was approved. We finalized financing, my mom and I spent hours cleaning, the next day came, and Frank of course did not send the air purifier with the crew. Thankfully, the second portion of work did not fill our house with dust, but I still would have appreciated using an air purifier to make sure that the air in our home was totally clean.
