  The initial contact was with a professional sales (booking) person and mentioned $49, which is a "dispatch fee" that will be taken off if we agree to the "work performed". They text reminders and confirmations of the appointment, and were courteous enough to call to tell me the electrician was running behind, but he still was within the time window originally promised. The electrician, charged $195 to just "Troubleshoot" what we knew, that an outlet needed to be replaced, and a basic bathroom canister light ($9.95 from Lowe's) needed to be replaced, but probably because it is cheaper and easier for him to do rather than get a stuck lightbulb out. The electrician, didn't make it clear. Then the actual "work to be performed was estimated at $562... on top of the $195 "troubleshoot" fee! My 80 year old mother, was shocked at the total cost of the job, but felt pressured to continue with the work, since she would already be out about $250 (dispatch fee plus troubleshoot fee). However, she went quiet, and the electrician said he can "take off" the dispatch fee and give a 10% senior citizen discount, leaving her further to believe the cost of work was arbitrary and up for negotiation and that she is being taken, but would lose $250 and even finding a reasonably priced electrician would leave her out of pocket the same amount. That is the tactic! Further the electrician looked for potential "upsell" with asking my mother uncomfortable questions like how old is this house (built 1981, remodeled and upgraded 2014) and recommended he could change out ALL the outlets (not just the one that failed), and further he told my mother he drove two hours for this job, sad it was not someone local and I am sure he padded the costs. A few minutes after the electrician left, the dispatch person called to see how it went. My mother told me, "fine", and so I relayed that to the dispatch person, but later told me she really felt taken advantage and price gouged. Nonetheless, we (my mother and I) learned the lesson and presume this is how the electrical industry works these days. I suspect Thomas Edison is just a dispatch (get their fee and maybe a cut of the electrician invoice) and has contractual relationship this electrician, not employee. While I highly respect and wanted to use a license electrician, this gives me pause to use a professional on two simple and small jobs.

  The previous night, I had my electrical outlet spark and become charred black, and Thomas Edison Electric was able to send someone the very next morning to fix my issue and handle all the wiring in a swift and efficient manner. Ed was as friendly as he was professional and knowledgeable, a great experience.

  Mike was very professional and friendly. He was clearly knowledgeable and worked quickly to get the job done. The company has excellent customer service and put us on their schedule very quickly. Overall, we were very happy with the work completed and the company’s dedication to making sure their customers are happy!

  Artur and Malcolm were on time, professional and offered great customer service. My experience was good from the scheduling, to the confirmation, as well as the notification that the team was on their way. Artur and Malcolm were courteous and respectful of my home. They were able to track down the electrical issue and fix it, while explaining what the problem was in laymans terms. They were not rushed and I felt comfortable to have them in my home. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs an electrician.
