They were quick to answer the phone and get us the help we needed swiftly in a super stressful situation. I am so very appreciative. The man who came out to our house was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Our well pressure tank needed to be replaced and Mayer's came out the same day I called and replaced the tank. They had the correct parts in stock and did a great job! They are very capable and knowledgeable about anything dealing with wells and water systems and at a fair price!

Avoid this company! We were having issues with our water. Our plumber suggested it might be our well pump. We called Mayer to have them assess the issue and provide a quote for repair. They did very little to assess the issue. They dropped a rock down the well and determined that our well was running dry because the rock took “a long time to reach the bottom”. They suggested that we needed a completely new well and provided a quote for nearly $22,000. This didn’t sit right with me, so I sought a second opinion. The second contractor performed proper testing and confirmed that my well is functioning, with water present at approximately 130 feet in a 250-foot well. The actual issue was simply a failed well pump. In other words, I was advised to replace an entire well when the real problem was a much smaller, straightforward repair. That kind of misdiagnosis is not a minor oversight—it’s a serious concern. Recommending a completely unnecessary solution of that scale could have cost me thousands of dollars had I not taken the initiative to verify. At best, this reflects a lack of thorough evaluation. At worst, it raises questions about the integrity of the recommendation. If fact, the new company I used indicated this was the third time in a month that a homeowner has raised a similar concern about Mayer. Either way, I would strongly encourage others to get a second opinion before proceeding with any major work suggested by this company.

These guys are the best, most trustworthy people you’ll ever find. They return your call in less than 30min and they were here in an hour. The pump they installed 35yrs ago finally died this morning. Jack and Chris had the new pump in and running in just under 3 hours. Thanks guys Lou and Laurel Fantini

Frequently Asked Questions About Mayer's Well Drilling

Does it matter what size pump I install?

The size of the pump you install is indeed important and depends on your household's water needs. Pumps are rated in gallons per minute (GPM), with a typical 3-4 bedroom home requiring 8-12 GPM. To determine your specific needs, add one GPM for each water fixture in your home, including appliances like washing machines, dishwashers, and refrigerators, as well as faucets, showers, and outdoor spigots.

What is the best location for my well?

When selecting a location for your well, consider several factors. Look at nearby properties with recent well installations. Ensure the well is positioned away from septic drainage fields and animal enclosures. Additionally, seek an area with minimal large rocks. These considerations will help optimize your well's location and performance.
