I wish I could give negative -5 stars. Please think twice before hiring this company.
I watched a family go through an incredibly frustrating experience with this handyman service, and leaving a negative review is the last thing I wanted to do.
Unfortunately, after seeing how this situation unfolded, I feel people deserve to know what happened.
The job started with an estimate, but the company sent out a newly hired worker who appeared to be inexperienced and did not seem to know what he was doing. What should have been a straightforward door installation turned into a disaster. The work was extremely sloppy, mistakes were made, and the door was damaged to the point that it had to be replaced or repaired before it could be properly installed. The opening in the house itself was also left larger than it should have been.
The company eventually sent out a more competent repair person who corrected some of the damage and reinstalled the door. It was appreciated that the company made an effort to correct that portion of the work. However, fixing the workmanship did not resolve the financial dispute or compensate the family for everything they went through.
Despite the original estimate, the final charge was approximately double what had been quoted. The inexperienced worker took significantly longer, and the family was left paying for the consequences of that inexperience. In my opinion, a customer should not have to absorb those extra costs when the company's own staffing and workmanship caused the problem.
What was especially disappointing was the owner's attitude during attempts to resolve the issue. Rather than handling the situation with professionalism, fairness, and accountability, the conversations became combative. Promises to fix things did not translate into a fair resolution of the bill.
This family made multiple attempts to resolve the matter directly, including phone calls and follow-up messages, but has struggled to get a meaningful response.
The workmanship was eventually addressed, but the customer service, communication, and handling of the overcharge remain unacceptable.
This family gave the company opportunities to make things right privately before resorting to a public review. Nobody wants to spend their time dealing with a situation like this after hiring someone to do a job they expected to be handled professionally.
I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to get the estimate and all pricing expectations in writing, clarify who will be doing the work, and make sure you understand how additional labor will be handled if the company's own mistakes cause delays.
I hope the owner takes this seriously and offers a fair no resolution. If that happens, I would be happy to update my review. Until then, based on what I witnessed, I cannot recommend this company.

Called Ace because we are fans of our local Ace Hardware store and were excited to see that they offer general handyman services. We needed gutters cleaned and I sent them pictures of the house so they knew what equipment to bring. Upon arrival the contractor showed up with the wrong ladder and said he needed to get another one. So I contacted Ace to make sure we were not going to be charged for the hour that he was gone getting another ladder. They assured me that we wouldn't. But when the job was over, he tried charging us for that hour. He eventually changed the invoice after my wife let him know that we had contacted the office.
Was looking for a trusted local partner for handyman work but this will not be our solution. Deeply disappointed in Ace's services.
It's unfortunate that it took a Google review to finally get a response. I made numerous attempts to reach Ian and Dana by phone and email, contrary to the claim that I never followed up. I would have much preferred to resolve this privately.
I hired this company based on an estimate and expected professional workmanship. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations.
The company sent a newly hired worker who clearly lacked the experience to properly install the door. The workmanship was sloppy, multiple mistakes were made, the door was damaged, and the opening in my home was left larger than necessary. The worker repeatedly returned to apply more caulk, sometimes making multiple trips in one day. He also broke several parts of the newly installed door and, at one point, asked me not to tell his boss something about the work. Needless to say, this was extremely concerning.
While it is true a courtesy discount was applied. However, even after that discount, I still paid twice the original quoted amount and twice what the other handyman would have charged. Without that discount, the bill would have been THREE times the quote. Presenting this as some generous favor is misleading and does not change the fact that the charge was excessive and unacceptable.
To their credit, the company eventually sent Ryan, who did an excellent job correcting some of the damage and reinstalling the door. I appreciate his efforts. However, fixing the workmanship did not resolve the billing issue.
**I was ultimately charged approximately twice the original estimate, largely due to the inexperienced worker taking considerably longer.** I do not believe customers should be responsible for additional labor costs caused by a company's own poor workmanship and lack of experience.
During my conversations with Ian, he repeatedly assured me he would make things right. Unfortunately, despite those assurances, a fair financial resolution never happened. I also made numerous attempts to follow up. Calls went unreturned, and despite Dana inviting me to communicate by email, my subsequent replies and follow-ups went unanswered.
My concern isn't simply that mistakes were made. Mistakes happen. It's that those mistakes resulted in a substantially higher bill for me, and despite repeated attempts to resolve the matter, the company has not taken appropriate financial responsibility.
I am still willing to resolve this fairly and would gladly update my review if the company makes an appropriate adjustment.
In the meantime, I cannot recommend this company based on my experience. If you choose to use them, get everything in writing, including the scope of work, final pricing, and responsibility for additional labor if mistakes need to be corrected.
I hired this company expecting honesty, integrity, and professional service. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of all three.

I was very upset with my bill of over 280 some dollars for having to go up on the roof cut the cable and bring it down and put it in my garbage can. I know it was here a long time but that was not my fault he spent over an hour fooling around with a giant ladder that he brought with him Moving it from here to there to moving it all around the place after an hour I went out and asked them what was going on and he said the ladder was too big and he had to take it back. He said he won’t charge me for the time he asked to drive Drive there and back. Once he had the correct ladder which was lighter, the other one was too big too heavy. He couldn’t handle it but that’s not my fault and I don’t think I should pay that much money because he was here that long because he had the wrong ladder and didn’t know what to do with it , do you understand all he had to do was cut a cable cord and put it in my garbage he had had cut it down at the bottom too so top and bottom but it doesn’t take that long to cost that much money. I don’t think I should have to pay for the time that he’s fooling around with a ladder that was too heavy for him , it’s not my fault
