After paying $525 for a service call. That told us maybe it was a control panel or maybe it was the magnetos. We were offered a control panel at $900 for the part plus labor cost. So we decided to hold since that was a potential fix. After looking up the part online it was only $450 and of course YouTube said it was a 15 minute job. So we installed it and the code happened again which proved it must be the magnetos if the tech knew what he was doing. So we reached back out for the repair of the magnetos. After three emails I finally was responded to at which point they told me after I installed the control panel they could not further help me. This was never explained because the tech told me he liked to work with customers who did things themselves.
Jose was extremely nice and courteous however I spent $525 to be partially diagnosed. I don’t think this plus the abandoning of the help after the part was installed by me is a great way to earn customers. Not to mention they marked up the control panel by 100%.

Can't recommend this company enough! After getting several quotes for a new generator, it was a huge relief to meet Don, who was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and gave me a fair price with realistic installation timing. While the generator was delivered and installed, I felt like I was getting the white-glove treatment with Jose. every question answered, everything done with such care.
But the really exceptional experience came after the new generator was in. Our Wi-Fi went out and I thought maybe the new generator had tripped a fuse, so I called the company after hours. Like 5 pm on a Friday after hours. Don picked up, talked me through the situation, looked at pictures I texted over, and kindly told me it wasn't the generator at all, but a totally unrelated outlet. Without his help I would have had to call an electrician.
Just all-around exceptional service. I'm very grateful to have found this company and very grateful for Don!

Generator failed days after their maintenance. Cause: a spark plug boot their tech never reconnected. I found and fixed it myself after they stopped responding.
I signed up for Mid-Atlantic's annual Preventive Maintenance Agreement and paid $525 up front, in full, on day one. Here's what that bought me.
THE BILLING: For a full year their office pressed me about an invoice from my first service call. I called three times to question it and was made to feel it was owed. Only when I finally put it in writing did they acknowledge the invoice had been billed at more than double the correct promotional rate. It took a year and a written complaint to get a billing error corrected that their own records confirmed.
THE MAINTENANCE: My Generac ran its weekly exercise cycle flawlessly for years — every Monday, never a missed start. Their technician performed my annual maintenance, which included replacing the spark plugs. Days later, during a real power outage, the generator failed. It would fire, backfire loudly, run rough for about six seconds, and shut down. I have it on video.
THE RESPONSE: I called during the active outage. Their on-call tech had me clear the alarm twice by phone, then asked me when the utility expected to have power back — while the generator I pay them to maintain sat dead. I was told I'd get a call right back. It never came. I called twice more the next day. Nothing. When I later accepted their offer to inspect the unit and asked them to confirm basic terms in writing, they went silent again — with a storm heading into the area.
WHAT I FOUND: With no response and weather coming, I opened the unit myself. A spark plug boot on one cylinder was sitting loose on top of the engine, never seated onto the plug — the same plugs their technician had just replaced. I photographed it exactly as they left it, pushed the boot on, and the generator started immediately and ran perfectly. Before-and-after video, time-stamped photos, the works. The entire failure came down to their tech not pushing a plug wire back on — and a week of silence while my family had no backup power.
To their credit, they did eventually cancel my renewal invoice when I asked. But I paid for a year of protection and got a billing fight, a generator disabled by their own maintenance visit, and unreturned calls during the exact emergency the service exists for. I diagnosed and repaired their mistake myself.
If you use this company: photograph your unit before and after every service visit, get every promise in writing, and test-run the generator yourself before the tech leaves your driveway. I won't be back.
