They came out to do an estimate and hopefully install a simple laundry tub in my garage. I had all the parts, just needed an install. The installer was pleasant and knowledgeable, but the price for what I needed was insane based on the app they use to do the estimate. I declined the service and was charged a $50 fee. I would not recommend using them for a small job, especially if you are outside of the Philly metro area.

I had a great experience using Ace, all the way through from the estimate visit to the great price for replacing my two HVAC systems to working with me to find an installation date to performing the actual replacements to quickly answering post-install questions. Mike Pagnottelli was the point person for my project, and I highly recommend him and Ace for HVAC needs.

Our project was actually two different and distinct efforts, both quite complex. Our tech, Garcia, did an incredible job. He communicated well, was courteous, and worked until the job was done correctly. We’ve also done electrical work with Ace. It’s a terrific team, they’ve become my go-to contractor. Great work, Garcia, thank you!
Garcia was awesome! He diagnosed the issue with my refrigerator in about 2.2 seconds. Okay, maybe not quite THAT fast - but it was pretty darn fast. My dog seemed to take to him also, so… Anyway, I couldn’t have been more happy with the my ACE repair service today. Thank you, Garcia. Thank you ACE Home Services.
Services: Diagnosis of Daiken Heat Pump that was not operating, and Replacement of one single-phase Voltage Monitor/Protector for the Daiken Heat Pump.
The diagnostic technician, & shortly thereafter, the service technician were both very professional & provided good service.
The $99 charged for the Diagnostic Service was reasonable, but this fee was not deducted from the Replacement Service fee.
The Replacement Service fee was WAY OVERPRICED! I found the exact same model Voltage Monitor on the internet priced at $325. The service technician spent about ONE hour & 15 minutes replacing the part & checking that the heat pump worked. So, even if you include 30 minutes driving time & 15 minutes to order the part, we are talking about 2 man-hours. If they charged $150 per hour, that should bring the total cost for replacement to $625. (Even if ACE charged $200 per man-hour, that would only be $725.)
ACE had provided a quote of $975.34. I balked & they gave me a Valued Customer discount of $97.00, bringing the fee for the Replacement Service to $878.34.(I agreed because I just needed to get the job done.)
So, when you add the diagnostic fee of $99 to the replacement fee of $878.34, you get a whopping total of $977.34. So, ACE Hardware Home Services OVERCHARGED about $250 to $350.
I would recommend that you get estimates from local & perhaps smaller HVAC companies to meet your needs. A large outfit like ACE Hardware Home Services must have very high overhead costs to charge such high prices.
