I don't know how Solarity conducts its hiring practices, but based on what I've personally observed, I would be extremely cautious about doing business with the company.
Bryan Kuhn is a major reason why.
After spending time with another company in the industry and leaving more than once, he later rebranded himself as "That Solar Guy" and began posting frequent social media videos claiming to help families save significant amounts of money by switching to solar.
These videos and his apparent "success in helping families" come with several red flags:
1. The content appears highly scripted.
Many of the videos come across as if they are being read directly from a prepared script rather than being based on genuine expertise or personal experience. The delivery often feels rehearsed, despite the number of times he stumbles through reading his lines from his tablet, and lacks authenticity.
2. There is absolutely NO evidence of completed projects.
Despite frequent claims of helping numerous families switch to solar, I have yet see completed installation photos, customer testimonials, project walkthroughs, or other documentation that would support those claims. For someone marketing himself so aggressively, the lack of actual evidence is laughable.
3. He regularly records content while driving.
Regardless of the vehicle, creating promotional videos behind the wheel strikes me as unprofessional and reflects poorly on any business associated with that practice.
4. Some of the content appears inappropriate for someone representing a professional company.
For example, one video was posted while shirtless, exposing his hairy body and pierced nipped. In my view, that is not the image I would expect from someone serving as the public face of a company selling a major home improvement product.
5. Intoxication.
There have been several instances in which Bryan posts a video at night where his speech is slurred and his eyes are bloodshot. Does Solarity Energy Solutions actually stand behind the opinions of an alcoholic?
6. I was particularly troubled by a video that appeared to mock a disabled individual.
The post received substantial criticism, and instead of addressing those concerns constructively, he outright attacked those who questioned it before ultimately (and finally) taking the post down.
Based on everything I've seen, I have serious concerns about both the professionalism of the individual and the standards of the company that chooses to associate itself with him. My recommendation is simple: do your homework, ask for references, request examples of completed work, and carefully evaluate any claims before signing a contract with Bryan or Solarity.
