Highly recommend Planet Roof. Worked on Roof estimate with Kyle, who was very thorough and professional and explained our options clearly and completely. During his review he discovered mold in our attic and the company moved up the installation schedule to quickly complete the job, so that we could address the mold issue ASAP. Had new roofs replaced on house and garage. Derrick and his crew of about 9 workers arrived at 7:30 am the following Monday and were done with the job by 3:30 pm. They worked hard and did an incredible job, replacing the old shingles, any wood that showed signs of decay and cleaned everything up. Completely satisfied and would urge people to seriously consider using this company.

Very disappointing experience with the sales portion of our roof evaluation. The employee who initially scheduled our appointment was wonderful: kind, courteous, and professional. Unfortunately, our experience with Billy was the complete opposite. Billy arrived about 45 minutes late and, despite being told multiple times that we wanted an evaluation only, repeatedly pushed financing and other "next steps." We clearly told him that we were not moving forward and specifically told him that we did not want him entering our home to inspect the attic. Despite this, he continued bringing up the attic and continued asking to come inside again after we had already told him no. We also repeatedly asked him to simply email us the information rather than continuing the sales conversation. Instead, he waited in his vehicle in front of our house, called us around 8:00 p.m., and asked to come inside to discuss the report. Even after we went outside and again clearly stated that we were not interested, he continued trying to sell us financing. The interaction ultimately ended with my wife and me having to say good night, turn around, and walk into our house while closing the door all the while Billy was still trying to talk to us because our attempts to end the conversation were not being respected. Throughout the appointment, there were repeated references to personal sacrifices Billy had to have made to be there, as well as statements about potential problems with our homeowners insurance if we didn't get a new roof. These comments felt like personal and scare tactics being used to influence our decision rather than simply providing us with information and allowing us to make our own choice. We understand that salespeople need to explain options and concerns, but we do not feel that our clearly stated boundaries were respected or that we were given the space to make our own decision without continued pressure. Based on this experience, when we are ready to replace our roof, we will be looking elsewhere.

Do not use this company! Dennis came out and gave us a quote- after advising that this quote will only be valid now and will be higher after he leaves. We were told we could get the roof done on Sunday- and we were pleasantly surprised with the availability. Materials dropped off and dumpster delivered by Saturday. Sunday comes around and no crew shows up. No confirmation or call stating it had to be moved. We call the contact number and you get AI and unable to speak with a representative or supervisor. Few hours later, we google Planet Roof and call a different number and speak with a rep out of Iowa. He could see our date was scheduled but changed to Monday without any documentation & passed an email to project manager. 15 mins later, another man calls us and asks us about scheduling a time for Thursday. We had no such conversation about Thursday, nor had any communication since Wednesday. We asked both men to get us in touch with PM. We told both men that we do not want the service tomorrow, and need to get this rectified before continuing. Fast forward to 8 pm we try calling the number again and got the AI. Between the numbers provided to my husband, the numbers online, and the one given to us when the reps came door to door- there’s numerous numbers to “try” and get in contact with this company and when you do- it’s a rep out of another state or AI. Still have yet had any communication with the Project Manager- Joel. Very upset and frustrated with this company. Awful communication, unorganized, unprofessional. Will never use again nor recommend to a friend.

Edit #2: I have spoken with the sales manager about some of my problems. The roof is complete. In all I believe they had to have the solar crew come to our house 4 times (should have been 2) and the roof crew come 3 times (should have been 2, could have been 1 if the weather had cooperated). It has rained since completion and there is no evidence of water coming in. So I believe that the actual work is good. But the communication among parts of the team caused delays and annoyance for us. And as I said in the original review, the company needs to figure out how to NOT send the survey until the work is COMPLETE. I do not want to review anyone until they've completed the work. Edit: I wrote this review and was then asked to contact the company to work out the problem (see below). Since then, I've emailed and called and have not gotten a reply. Also since then, the roof has been replaced. The actual work seems to be fine. But during that installation, it became clear to the foreman that the salesman didn't look at quite enough of the roof from inside the attic and we actually needed to have more of the solar panels removed to get the full repair done. So the part that needs repair is not quite done yet because the roof crew is not the same as the solar panel crew, so now we have to wait more for the solar panel crew to come back, take off more panels, and then get the roof crew back. It's seeming like it's the salesman who is our biggest issue here... So far, if I could give a 0 I would. First we got the guy in the polo shirt with the company logo on the left chest giving us the very high pressure sales pitch. “If you book today we give you a big discount”. Red flag if I ever heard one. Then he told us they’d install the new roof 3 days later. We shook hands and paid a deposit. LATER THAT AFTERNOON we got the link to review the company and job, well before the roof was even started. How can we review it before it’s even started? Then the day that we were told we’d have a new roof, they only came and took down the solar panels that are in the way of the repair. Then they called to say the roof would be installed two days later. That’s today. The foreman showed up but the crew didn’t and he said the crew is concerned about the remaining solar panels and aren’t coming today. So far this experience is a giant bust. I’d really like to just get our money back and start the estimate process over. Very annoying.

We had our roof and gutters replaced by Planet Roof. We initially chose Planet Roof because of the accreditations and the standard of quality. First and foremost, we want to say that we really appreciated the crews and the project manager, Derek, who handled the job. They were friendly and professional the entire time. That being said, the remainder of the process was a nightmare. During the sales process, we added on an additional vent to help circulate the air in our attic. During the installation, the PM informed us that the vent was unnecessary and would even cause more issues. We were happy to hear we would receive a refund for that additional item. Additionally, during the installation process, there were two items on our property damaged by the crew (a lamp post and a window screen). We fully understand accidents happen and were not upset with the crew by any means. My wife even said to the PM, it’ll get fixed, it’s not a big deal. When we received the final total, it did not reflect the refund we were expecting. It took nearly four weeks and at least 10 phone calls, texts, and online messages to Planet Roof before we finally had a resolution. Over the course of these calls, texts, etc we were continuously promised someone would reach out to us within one to two business days, and the damages would be handled by a separate team who would come to our house and try to fix things or determine cost for reimbursement. Finally, on a Friday morning, my wife received a call from Bob. We were told whoever was meant to call us back didn’t because they couldn’t figure out what it was that needed refunded. From our perspective, if someone is expecting a follow up, regardless of the answer - you follow up. In this case, you call and say we don’t think you’re due a refund. However, by the end of this phone call, we were promised a refund via check in the mail, and a follow up phone call on the damages later that day. The follow up call never came. The following Monday morning, we received a call from Adam, who was looking into the refund request and yet again, telling us he could not figure out what needed to be refunded. He actually sent my wife pictures of the house and asked her to draw where she thought this vent should be installed. She chose a picture of the front of the house, and drew exactly what the sales guy drew for us. The response she received was “Roof vents don’t go on that part of the roof. They don’t make anything like that” he gave some example of where they do go, then said “maybe you’re thinking something else. Honestly, I’m not sure or can even think of anything to suggest. Do you maybe have a picture of what you thought it was?” We told him we don’t have a picture, but Derek the PM may know what it’s called. No response after that. So we reached out to Derek ourselves. Turns out it’s called a smart vent. I sent that back to Adam who eventually responded with “you guys are correct. It’s a smart vent.” and proceeded to provide the final total of the refund along with what they are going to pay out in damages. Keep in mind, no one ever came out to inspect the damages, determine how much it would cost to fix or replace the items, etc. At this point, we were so frustrated with this entire situation, we agreed to the total. They provided us $135 to fix/replace a tall lamp post in the front of our house, and have a window rescreened. Something tells me it’s going to cost a lot more than that to replace these items, but as I said, we are done with this mess. We will never recommend Planet Roof to anyone we know. While the crew did nice work and were all very pleasant, the back end processing was the biggest nightmare. To say we are dissatisfied with our experience is an understatement.
