  James Downen and his team were great with our septic inspection & pumping for a home I’m currently trying to buy in The Dalles, OR. Just waiting on the report this weekend or next. But everything seemed like it went okay other than the fact that the septic wasn’t pumped for a long time.

  Speedy Septic came to my wife's rental house to replace the float switch in the lift tank which had malfunctioned a week before. This was going to cost $500. The guys showed up not knowing what they were there for and only having a used float switch. They had replaced the pump two months earlier with a new pump and did not bother to install a new float switch at that time. When they replaced the pump two months earlier they did not install the grommet which blocks the gasses in the tank from coming into the utility room where the tank lives. So, my tenant had been living with that smell for two months. The guys did re-install the grommet and left, saying that I would not be charged because they only fixed something that they were responsible for anyway. Then the company charged me $169.84. I have now asked them five times to give me my money back and they will not answer my calls anymore.

  The service was timely, efficient and they are very knowledgeable with experince that helps to find the problem faster. When I started to explain my problem with the septic drain field they narrowed it down quickly. Also I appreciated how they use a vehicle tracker so that I could see when the team was arriving. This way I didn’t have to stay at home the whole day waiting and I could just leave work to meet them at the site when they arrived. The work was professional and well done!

  The folks at Speedy Septic in the Dalles were very helpful and efficient! They were available to come out only a couple days after I called, and they got records from the county about the location of my septic drain paths so I could know where to avoid digging. The person who came out to the house spent a lot of time explaining how the tank and the drain field works, how a serial system works, how often you need to replace it and why, and he helped me weigh the benefits and downsides of relocating the system. He also gave me helpful recommendations about how to take care of our septic system to make sure it lasts as long as possible. I was also relieved they didn’t have to drive the big truck onto the lawn like they used to because they have a gigantic generator on the truck with a long vacuum attachment. Bonus!
