Edgar and his team did a great job installing a mini-split at one of my rentals. They were fast and didn’t leave a mess. Which is always appreciated.

While my wife and I were not surprised by our entire 18 year old HVAC system (gas furnace +traditional central AC) failing, we were caught off guard by the timing.
After speaking with other companies who seemed more concerned about financing than the right system, we called RR.
Kyle explained everything well and made sure we knew what we needed, as well as what we didn't. When Nate, Edgar and crew arrived a couple of days later, they were ready to go. Because this was a gut and upgrade to a heat pump system, it took two full workdays, but the results are undeniable.
We have the right system for us at a great price, serviced by a company of people who clearly care about their craft, their customers, and their reputation. Highest possible recommendation.

Had Resilient Retrofits replace our mini-split system, water heater, and handle some exterior weatherizing for us. Wonderful experience all around. Communication with our project coordinator Michelle was excellent. Mark is a rare gem of a guy who really takes pride in doing good work. Working with Resilient, I felt they were respectful of our goals for the project, rather than trying to sell us on doing things "their way." It's been a couple months since the project was completed and we are seeing a 20% drop in electricity usage compared to last year, plus our home is soooo much more comfortable!

Kyle was patient and thorough. He walked through the house to get a sense of what was possible for me. He was very knowledgeable and helpful even though his company was unable to assist me due to issues with the house that were preventing the fixes I was interested in.
Frequently Asked Questions About Resilient Retrofits
What services does Resilient Retrofits provide?
A home performance assessment helps identify how your home uses and loses energy, where comfort issues are coming from, and which upgrades should be prioritized. Resilient Retrofits uses diagnostic tools such as blower door testing and infrared cameras to find air leaks, missing insulation, inefficient systems, moisture concerns, and indoor air quality issues.
Do I need a home performance assessment before upgrading insulation or HVAC?
A home performance assessment is the best place to start because insulation, air sealing, ventilation, and heating and cooling systems all work together. Understanding the whole home helps Resilient Retrofits recommend right sized upgrades that improve comfort, reduce energy waste, and avoid unnecessary equipment or performance issues.
Why should insulation and air sealing be completed together?
Insulation helps slow heat transfer, while air sealing helps stop drafts and uncontrolled air leaks. When completed together, they help Portland homes stay warmer in winter, cooler in summer, quieter, and more efficient while supporting better indoor air quality and reducing strain on heating and cooling systems.
Are heat pumps a good option for Portland homes?
Yes. Heat pumps are a strong option for Portland homes because they provide both heating and cooling through one efficient electric system. They can replace or supplement older heating systems, add reliable cooling for warmer summers, improve comfort, and support a cleaner all electric home.
What is the difference between a ducted heat pump and a ductless mini split?
A ducted heat pump works with a central duct system to condition the whole home, while a ductless mini split serves specific rooms or zones without ductwork. Resilient Retrofits helps homeowners choose the right system based on the home’s layout, insulation, airflow, comfort goals, and budget.
Can Resilient Retrofits help with rebates and incentives?
Yes. Resilient Retrofits helps homeowners and rental property owners understand available rebates, tax credits, and incentive programs for qualified energy efficiency upgrades. Because programs and funding can change, the best first step is to schedule an assessment or contact the team to review current options for your project.
What is home electrification?
Home electrification means replacing older gas, oil, or inefficient systems with efficient electric technologies for heating, cooling, water heating, and other major home systems. When paired with insulation, air sealing, and proper ventilation, electrification can improve comfort, support cleaner indoor air, and prepare your home for solar energy.
