  Not your guy if you want responsiveness or price transparency. The company doing my attic insulation referred Tim Becker to add additional ventilation and do some exterior repairs to keep critters out. He came out to scope the project, and I explained that keeping the critters out was my highest priority (not looks). That seemed to set off alarm bells that maybe I was cheap, so he said if I wasn’t concerned with looks then “they weren’t my guys”. A little rude but that was fine, I wasn’t concerned with price and looking good was a bonus. I was only concerned about speed because we needed the attic insulation handled for my toddler’s room before summer. He explained how he would approach the job, took all of my info and said he’d send over a quote. He said he’d bill by time and materials because it was a small job and stressed that all of the pricing would be transparent. All great to hear. I realized right after he left I forgot to ask about availability, so I shot him a text. Five days later, with no response and no quote I sent a follow-up text. Still no answer so I figured he probably wasn’t a texter and gave him a call. No answer, and his voicemail wasn’t set up so there is no way to leave him message. I know he received the call though, because a few moments later I received his quote in my email. $5160 to patch two exterior holes the size of a golf ball and cut eight 4x16 soffit vents. There was no price breakdown and no information regarding availability. At this point I figured he had been deliberately ignoring my texts/calls, probably because he thought the job was too small, so he shot me a high quote in hopes it would deter me. (Also note the quote wasn’t billed as time/materials and had zero transparency) I still didn’t care because I needed this done, I just didn’t want to click “Accept” until he could confirm availability. So I shot him another text saying I just needed availability and then I’d be good to go. Still no answer. At that point I gave up. All I know is he was kind of rude when he came to the house, had high prices, didn’t provide any pricing transparency, and was completely unresponsive.

  i received a handful of quotes for our bathroom remodel (floor tile, shower tile, drywall) and went with becker with wonderful results! super communicative, worked very quickly, and gave us tips/pointers on the DIY parts we were planning on handling after their work was completed. we love our bathroom!

  Becker Custom PDX replaced our 35-year-old deck with a Trex Enhanced deck. My wife and I were delighted with the craftsmanship and attention to detail. Project manager Chase Cordaway and the construction crew were outstanding. They exceeded our expectations.
