  During the recent power outage and freezing temperatures in Portland, a water pipe broke over our furnace, resulting in severe damage which made the furnace inoperable. I contacted Efficiency Heating and Cooling and they sent a technician to assess the damage. He showed us the damaged components and explained their operation. The next day we received a quote for repair and several options for replacement. Considering the age of the furnace we opted for replacement. A few days later they arrived with the new unit. The technicians were very friendly, knowledgeable, and had the unit up and running before they left that day. They also installed some safeguards in case a similar situation occurred in the future. I would definitely call Efficiency again should I have any heating or cooling needs. Efficiency recently called to set up a complimentary (one year after the original installation) service appointment to check the furnace. Meredith (Efficiency technician) arrived at the scheduled time. She was very courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. She explained the various tests she was performing to evaluate how the unit was operating. After her evaluation, she explained that the unit is operating properly, and also gave me some useful tips to help the unit operate more effectively. As with our first experience with Efficiency, we will definitely call them again should we have heating or cooling needs.

  $200 call out. $800 to replace a gas solenoid, not including the part, which was “covered” under warranty. They charge a warranty processing fee of $200 and $550 for an hour worth of labor. So $1k later to fix a part covered under warranty on a 2 year old system. Job was completed within 2 hours of showing up at the door which included time to go pick up the part. Total racket in my opinion. They also installed a new AC for me this year. They removed the vent I had in the basement to make the AC coil fit but didn’t reinstall the vent anywhere else. I didn’t notice before I was rushed to sign their agreement of completed work. So now I’m stuck without a basement vent.

  Efficiency Heating replaced a furnace that was not working within a day. The installers were very professional and knowledgeable. The whole experience was positive and I will continue to business with them in the future.

  Our 40+ year old heat pump died on us and we called Efficiency out for a second estimate. Efficiency's prices were far below the other company's and the guys were very knowledgable. They did a great job of explaining the pros and cons of all the different options, making us feel more confident in our choices. The installation took longer than expected because some unexpected things came up with our old house, but they stuck to the quoted price. I would definitely recommend Efficiency to anyone in need of service or new equipment.
