Do not hire Klaus Roofing if you don't want a promised 1-day job to take 3+ months, to spend dozens of hours tracking down your contractor to try to get them to finish or fix poorly done work, and to be threatened with a lien on your home, all while the job remains incomplete and no payment is due.
More context:
This has been by far the worst experience we have ever had with a contractor. For context, my husband and I frequently work with contractors for our business and generally have highly positive experiences. We hired Klaus to complete a gutter and repair job. We agreed on a price and Klaus told us the work would take 1 day to complete. They didn't complete the job that day, left after lunch without communication (after tearing all the gutters off our house and leaving a mess), didn't give a return date, and told us the price would be going up when we finally called days later to find out when they were returning. That was just the beginning.
Fast forward 3 months. I estimate we have spent 40+ hours to date project managing Klaus -calling to try to get them to finish promised work, being asked for more and more photos of poor workmanship and missing repairs, waiting for more crews to come fix what was not completed, and having Klaus workers show up repeatedly saying they weren't even told what they were there to do - then asking us to re-explain the whole job again. There appears to be little communication/coordination between the Klaus staff, and we have often been unable to reach anyone on the phone due to full voicemails and lack of callbacks to our voicemails. We have had to repeatedly take time off work to meet , and to date, the work is still not complete. (I do want to say that Josh and his work partner were excellent and we felt their portion of the job was done well- and actually completed.)
All the while, Klaus' owner has not reached out to offer customer service, but has instead repeatedly emailed invoices and left voicemails threatening to put a lien on our house for non-payment of what is, to this date, an incomplete job (payment is due at the completion of the job, per our contract). They have not demonstrated concern about the experience we have had, or made any meaningful efforts to make this situation right, which has been almost as disappointing as the job itself. We are now in the process of hiring another contractor to finish the gutter drainage work we need completed, while continuing to receive threats from Klaus' owner.

Great experience from the initial sales consultation through installation. Was everything perfect? No. But when issues came up, Klaus Roofing of Oregon responded quickly, corrected everything, and provided fair financial compensation.
No project is guaranteed to go perfectly. What matters is how a company responds when something does not go as planned, and Klaus Roofing was fantastic. They stood behind their work and made things right.
When I need my next roof in about 50 years, I’ll be calling Klaus again!
Great people with good customer service and beautiful work!

Jason with Klaus Roofing Systems of Oregon was outstanding to work with. He spent nearly four hours inspecting our roof, answering our questions, and discussing our options, demonstrating an impressive level of thoroughness and expertise throughout the process.
What stood out most was his system-level approach. Rather than pushing unnecessary upgrades or cutting corners on important components, he recommended a complete roofing system that made sense for our home and budget. His explanations were clear, thoughtful, and backed by deep knowledge of roofing best practices.
Also important - Jason’s demeanor and communication style immediately put us at ease. He was professional, patient, and genuinely enjoyable to work with. We feel informed and confident, and are now looking forward to enjoying our beautiful new roof! :)
