  Had these guys come out to check out my parents ac unit end July 2025 and they added Freon. Gave them a call again this week cause ac wasn’t cooling. when it was time to pay and gave us the bill of $425 we asked what was wrong -they explained it needed Freon …ok.. I asked how often does it need recharged and it turns out for a home air conditioner, you should theoretically never need to add refrigerant, as it is a sealed system. Refrigerant does not wear out or get consumed; if levels are low, it indicates a leak. I asked than why wasn’t it checked for leaks the previous time or this time FIRST or asked if we wanted the leak repaired before adding the Freon ?!! Didn’t really get a clear answer as to why they don’t check for leaks first.So we paid for Freon less than 9 months ago (keep in mind fall and winter in between ) and again today plus wanted to charge for leak repair 300-400$ ……….I get leaks can happen and need to get repaired. But My point is why not start with the leak? it could have avoided another bill of “labor and Freon” if the leak would have been checked 9 months ago. Keep in mind they never told us about a leak I had to ask, they are the pros they should have told us. If I had not asked we would have paid ,called it good and all that Freon would have leaked again.
