What kind of power is needed for motorized retractable screens?
Each motorized screen draws one amp of power. We generally route all electrical cords through the attic to maintain a clean appearance without visible wiring. If soffit plugs are already present, they can be utilized with minimal cord exposure. A continuously powered outlet is required-avoid outlets connected to wall switches. Power requirements include one 110-volt plug for two screens and a double-gang 110-volt plug for four screens.
What is the number on the fabric?
The number indicates the percentage of UV rays the fabric blocks. For instance, Carbon 95 means the fabric is Carbon in color and blocks 95% of UV rays. Our most frequently selected options are 90 and 95. For situations where sun protection is not a priority, we offer No-See-Um and Tuff Screen, which provide insect protection only.
Do retractable screens come with remotes?
Yes, all remotes for enclosed patios are provided in white. We offer one-channel, five-channel, and 16-channel remote options. Wall switch remotes are also available in one-channel and multi-channel configurations, offered in either black or white.

What is the wind rating?
We offer two wind rating options. Option 1: Universal Screens are rated for winds up to 60 MPH. We recommend retracting screens when winds exceed 40 MPH to protect your investment. Option 2: ASI screens withstand wind speeds up to 115 MPH and are designed to remain deployed year-round. Both options are excellent choices depending on your specific requirements. Proper care of your investment will ensure it lasts a lifetime.
How long does installation take?

How do these screens withstand animals or intruders?
Our retractable screens are constructed from fabric material that can be cut, though doing so requires considerable time and effort. A dog or child could potentially run through the screen, but significant force would be necessary to cause damage. We have never needed to replace a screen due to damage from a child or person.

Outback Concepts provides the following manufacturer warranties: five years on the Somfy Motor, 10 years on the Phifer Fabric, and 15 years on the Twichell Fabric. The housing, hood, weight bar, and side tracks carry a lifetime warranty against fading and rusting. These components are powder-coated rather than painted. Outback Concepts offers a two-year labor warranty.
