  We built with Matt in 2019/2020 in a new neighborhood on a greenbelt lot. In just over 6 years, we’ve had issue after issue with this house. We’ve had to replace 3 windows already, and it looks like 2 more will need replacement this year, all due to improper installation and caulking/mortar over weep holes. We’ve also had drywall repairs under every replaced window. In addition, we dealt with a persistent roof/HVAC vent leak that no one could properly diagnose. In the process, we replaced the HVAC duct, all roof vents, a section of shingles, and the living room ceiling drywall 3 separate times after repeatedly being told the issue was fixed. Our pressure release valve also failed due to what a plumber described as an outdated installation method, causing a kitchen faucet leak that ruined our island and hardwood floors. We had to move out for over 7 weeks with our toddler and pets while repairs were completed. The yard grading is terrible as well. Water pools throughout the yard, and one side has a massive dip that has caused erosion problems. Between all of these issues, we’ve spent at least $20,000 out of pocket on problems that should not exist in a properly built home. Everyone we talk to says, “Your builder should take responsibility for that,” but when we call to inquire he claims these are “general home maintenance responsibilities of the owner”. On top of the workmanship concerns, Matt was extremely difficult to deal with throughout the process. He refused to take accountability for his mistakes, was arrogant and dismissive, and even raised his voice at my wife during the build. Overall, the experience was unprofessional from start to finish. I would never build with him again and cannot recommend him less.

  I had a fantastic experience working with Cozort Custom Homes! They took time to understand my needs and made the entire process easy! Communication was clear throughout the entire process! The craftsman ship and care that went into my home really show!!!!
