If you have this company come out, be prepared to get additional estimates, even am additional inspection. We had a water intrusion issue during heavy rains and we had a buyer for our home. The buyer had them come out and within five minutes we were told that the walls were a "level three" and close to a level four, meaning an imminent collapse. I believed it was just a grading issue with a gutter cleaning on our 100+ year old house. I was told that it was not the case and we had a $33,000 estimate. I questioned this and decided to pay for a full basement inspection and searched for a professional structural engineer. I contracted with a licensed structural engineer with 36 years experience, who also taught in the engineering department at a local university. He did a thorough inspection and provided an extensive report. The basement walls are not in an imminent state of collapse, and there is no grading system suggesting a "level three". His professional analysis also determined that any leakage is due to clogged gutters and the need to properly grade the property around the foundation so that water flows away from the house. A fraction of the cost of what was recommended by Ohio Basement Aithority. It was a scare tactic to get a sale of over $33,000. The rep from Ohio Basement Authority had dismissed the gutter and grading resolutio immediately at his "inspection" which was essentially a sales call. Please get 2 or 3 estimates and if needed, contract a structural engineer. I would never consider Ohio Basement Authority due to scare tactics that almost caused a sale to fall through and keep a buyer from purchasing their dream home. In addition I would have been out of $33,000 because I care about the home and want it right whether I sell it or remain in it.

It started off really bad.I was dealing with one person and he stopped taking my calls. Then I was connected with Rick Brant and things were moving slow and he seemed to get the ball rolling and things finally got done.My stress level went down so much.

Had Matt come out for a basement waterproofing quote and he was incredibly helpful. He took the time to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand, showed us pictures/videos, and answered all of our questions. Super personable, easy to talk to, and never made us feel overwhelmed or intimidated. You can tell he really knows what he’s doing. Highly recommend!

Matt Thomas did our inspection and was extremely thorough, professional, and easy to talk to. He did an amazing job explaining everything that needed to be addressed and even provided two different approaches for handling the issues. We really appreciated his knowledge, honesty, and attention to detail throughout the entire process.

I know i don't have a lot of room to write this whole review so ill try to keep it short. To say I'm less than impressed is an under statement, i have had nothing but issues throughout this whole process, i cant seem to get ahold of Ryan which is who sold me the service, i was promised this was a state of the art system, its a super easy and professional install "you wont even notice we were there" type thing. Well May 18th came around for the install, the guys that showed up were phenomenal, super polite, i had absolutely no issues with them personally. It started when Things were left out of the original plan, which was a 14 foot total area at the front of my basement. which they already dug in front of and laid the gutter system. they told me they could redo that part but they would have to come back tomorrow and the basement would have been left half done with an open floor and water everywhere. The lead guy installing made a call, moved some stuff around and they ended up doing something different so they could get the job done in one day, They did adjust my total a little bit for this. The whole thing is a mess. my walls, my floor, the concrete install. they were here until about 8:45pm, im usually in bed by 9:30 so i did a quick walk through and skimmed at everything so i could get them out of here. I had a better chance to look over everything today now that i had the time. The floors are covered in dry mud, there's water pooled in different places, muddy handprints and stains on the basement walls, where they ran the pipe through the basement wall there's a giant gap and you can see the outside. i thought this was going to be a "hidden" system, but its spaced away from the wall an inch or 2 to catch "residual" water, doesn't make sense to me. some areas around the basement floor were cut closer or farther apart than other areas and it just looks like a simple hack job. I could keep going on but ill stop here. I'm not impressed, i should have called around for different quotes. i think 11k+ dollars would get me a little bit better install. i could have probably done this job a little more professionally myself. i decided to take to the Reviews because i cant get ahold of anyone at Ohio Basement Authority. I am 100% willing to update this review once something has been done and they make it right. My basement has been destroyed on and off since April 1st of this year when it flooded, i seen the great reviews of this company and bit the bullet and gave them a shot. the salesman was smooth, quick, laid everything out made it look really professional and that's not what i received. I hope they reach out soon, i documented everything with pictures and have not touched anything. I will include a couple pictures so everyone can judge between my install and all of the 5 star review installs which look incredible.
