Ohio Basement Authority is a scam. The Eastlake/Willowick Office on Vine Street just showed up this year. After speaking with the city of Eastlake they said THE PERMIT TO OPERATE AS A BUSINESS was NOT approved until this year. How then can there be 41 5 star reviews. If Groundworks, the parent company of Ohio Basement Authority and based out of Virginia (go to the BBB of Virginia and READ THE REVIEWS AND DONT COUNT ON THE A+ rating like we unfortunately did) had 41 5 star reviews in a matter of months and considering it takes months just to have them start projects, take all listings with a grain of salt. Look at the reviews on here....a year ago? How can that be if they didn't have a permit to operate on Vine Street in Eastlake until this year? That is because they write fake reviews constantly which is why the FTC has been contacted. Joel R (cannot use full name unless you are the business…keep that in mind when reading all the fake reviews where full names are given meaning it is from the business) Ask him if he has a structural engineering degree as when he came to our house to do the annual inspection he saw how the 25,000 structural work they did last year was clearly not working as the property sunk again within six months. Joel's last words to us was xxx in the Twinsburg office will be the only one to schedule everything....that was in February. We are now in September and had to hire an attorney. This entire operation is a farce. Make sure to ask anyone who comes on your property what their credentials are, do they have certification to make structural determinations which at the base would be a structural engineering degree and make sure to follow this up with googling the persons name. Again, Ohio Basement Authority is renting office space in Eastlake on VIne Street, does not have structural engineers coming to your house, are completely about upselling just like when Joel came by and when I said we werent going to spend a dime more because the structural integrity after their work has created cracks in the interior of the house, the door doesn't close, and there was work that didn't need to be done but since the non-engineering sales team member who initially approached us was convincing, Jacob L, and we logically thought for him to determine the work he would have a structural engineering degree as it was major structural damage, we were wrong. Don't be fooled by the reviews you find across the internet. If they put half the time into honoring their contract that they do in putting fake reviews and opening fake branches across the state things may be better. Again, Ohio Basement Authority is part of the parent company Groundworks based out of Virginia. We have tried in vein to have the contract honored and the damage they did to our drive, house, and yard is beyond reproach. The emotional turmoil of my 84 year old mother who was financially victimized by them and ignored completely after they got their 25,000 is a failure on so many levels including elder abuse. Within six months the driveway was cracking, the foundation was sinking, cracks began appearing inside, the door started jamming because the structure was sinking again. Again, how does the EASTLAKE Vine Street Ohio Basement Authority have 44 great reviews already when they just opened the office this year according to the city of Eastlake. PLEASE READ ALL REVIEWS on the BBB website and you will see the consistent problems including heavy handed sales making it seem like you need certain work done when you dont, the sales people are NOT engineers Again, ask for proof of everyone’s credentials at every step of the way if you are going to use them. They subcontract out work so make sure to get the credentials of each crew. The best way to see their corrupt practices is to look at the BBB reviews. Even though they have an A+ rating, read the actual reviews.Keep a list of full names/times/dates. Per google, no full names can be used …every review with a name is written by them.

We had foundation repair and water management system installed last fall. We discovered an issue with one corner of our basement in March after heavy rains, which OBA rectified with no hassles under the warranty. Oliver and his crew from the Twinsburg office were very helpful, thorough and competent in solving the issue.
