We just had our basement waterproofed this past week. We had a team of 4 guys here. They were Jordan, Anderson, Aiden, and Tim. They were on time and were professional and polite which is hard to find these days. They informed us along the way and answered any questions we had.they did excellent work when finished They cleaned up all the debris. Had us come down after each day of work to show us what they had done on that day and of course a final showing and explained the air drying system they installed and how the humidity was when they started and what they set the machine at. We were pleased with the work they did and will recommend groundwork to anyone who is looking for a company to do their waterproofing.

25 August 2026 Thank you for your response. We have already been in direct contact with Ohio Basement Authority/Groundworks regarding this matter, and a Groundworks representative recently visited the property to inspect the outstanding issues. We are currently awaiting follow-up and a plan to complete the remaining repairs. We sent the requested information again today to the email address provided. We would appreciate it if this matter could be expedited. We have now received a notice from our HOA regarding the condition of the area around the unfinished waterproofing membrane and the need to have it cleaned up. With the work still incomplete and colder weather approaching, we would appreciate prompt action to resolve the outstanding issues. -------------------------------------------- Dear Ohio Basement Authority, Thank you for listening to our concerns. We are still waiting for your response and for the issues caused by your company to be fully resolved. Avon, Ohio

I wish I could give five stars for the work and zero stars for whoever is running the company. We had a complete basement waterproofing and also got the wall stabilized and a very long drainage pipe put out to a creek in our backyard. All of the work was done very well, efficiently, and the crew cleaned up after themselves. HOWEVER, when we signed the contract, we were told it would be a few weeks away. But then no follow up to give us a specific start date. One day the crew showed up completely unannounced. They said that they had the wrong phone number for us, which it turns out they did. But why would you send an entire crew to work if you cannot get a hold of the homeowners? Again, we were never given a specific start date. I happen to be able to stay home from work to be with the crew that day. Three days later the electrician also showed up completely unannounced. I happen to be home when he pulled in the driveway otherwise I would’ve missed him. Then we got a call saying the crew couldn’t come and finish the job on Friday but could come Saturday instead. We had no idea they were coming Friday at all. We told them they could not come on Saturday. They showed up on Saturday anyway, and we had to turn them away. They did return the next week. At the end of the job I handed my check to someone in the crew and got no receipt or any record of anything. I still have no way to prove that we actually got the work done except the canceled check. They are supposed to come back in a year and flush out all the drains and tighten the bolts on the walls and I seriously doubt they’re ever going to show up again. I have no idea how they are still in business, because the crews all said that this happens pretty regularly. It was a huge inconvenience. I had to miss several days of work unexpectedly. They do good work but every other part was an extremely negative experience.

Update: I spoke with a representative from Groundwork’s today and they apologized profusely and went above and beyond to correct the error and ensure everything was taken care of. This would have been a 5 star review after the first round of work completed. Alec and his team did an excellent job completing our waterproofing and were extremely professional. Foundation damage was discovered during our waterproofing and was scheduled to be completed at a later date with Ohio Basement Authority. A different team came out on a Saturday to complete the work of installing I beams along two of the foundation walls. After the team finished up and left we noticed that the house was getting warmer. We then discovered that our AC was not working. We assumed that our refrigerant line had been damaged in the process so we spent $200 to have an HVAC professional come out on the weekend to diagnose the problem. He then found that some electrical wiring had been damaged. This led us to then have to spend an additional $200 to have an electrician make a weekend call to fix the issue. The electrician determined that the team completing the I beam work had drilled through the power line to our ac unit while installing the beams. They then returned the line to the floor joists, placing exposed wiring in our wooden joists and reset the breaker without communicating any of this to us. The electrician assured us that it was impossible that the team did not realize what they had done based on the condition of the wire. This repair cost an additional $400. So $800 to fix an issue that they caused and attempted to hide. I called into the Ohio Basement Authority office first thing Monday morning in an attempt to fix this problem. I was assured by the operator that someone one would reach back out to me within 24-48 hours. It’s now been 5 days and I haven’t heard a word. All in all we have spent almost $35,000 repairing our basement because we believed we were working with a professional company who would be accountable and do trustworthy work. I understand mistakes can happen, but the complete lack of professional and safety to attempt to hide the mistake is absolutely unacceptable as is the lack of follow through on the company side. I did not intend to do a google review if the error was corrected but there has been absolutely no follow up which is why I’m here.
