I want to start off by pointing out that Home Genius isn't a roofing or home improvement company, they're strictly a marketing and sales company. Use a local company or the contractors that they hire, not Home Genius. It'll be cheaper, there will be accountability and resolution to issues. Cut out the middleman. At this point, I don't think their warranty is worth anything more than the paper it's printed on. They can't even honor their install craftsmanship or contract. 4 Months of waiting for them to finish the job. I'll give you a quick rundown of what to expect: Door Knock > Sales Pitch to lock in a consulting appointment (painful process)Sales appointment > $30k roof that took 3 hours to haggle down to $18k. The sales people use the most basic used car sales knock down tactics BUT she was VERY nice and helpful. It's just disingenuous when they say "let me call the warehouse to see if we have the exact shingle you want left over from another job we did". Of course they did, scummy price reduction tactic.  I still agreed, knowing the $18k was a little high but I just wanted it done asap. They also had a great 0% offer for 12m. I asked if the roofers are W2 or 1099 employees, she told me they're directly employed by Home Genius (W2). Turns out, they're all subcontractors (1099). The day of install, the crew got to work. I left and ran around town. My contract specifically detailed the Owens Corning Ventsure inflow eave vent would be installed on the back of the house. I told them I DO NOT want it on the front. This is a vent that goes across the face of the roof, 3' or so above the eave. I came home and they were almost done. Sure enough, the vent was installed in front, not in back. There's literally a picture and notes on the contract not to do this. The crew left nails everywhere, gutters were full of nails, grass, landscaping, roof, loose nails everywhere. Upon inspection, I found that flashing around my addition looked like a 1st grader did it. Leaving a very unfinished look to the roof and creating a space for water, snow and ice to get behind my siding. This is where the whole experience became painful. I'm hiring a local contractor to fix this poor installation. The office project manager never answers the phone, you leave a VM and some guy showed up to "fix" my flashing. He replaced part of it, where there was exposed wood but did not fix the entire section. The field project managers are helpful, they answer and call you back but nothing ever gets done. From March 13th until today (06/20), I've been promised multiple resolutions that were all unfulfilled. From March 13th until March 30th, the project manager was very helpful but the flashing isn't fixed. From April to May 11, I had trouble getting a hold of anyone. From May 11 until today, I've had responses and countless promises of "Hey Tom the crew will be there thursday or friday to get that repaired for you". Then a week goes by and I check in, "I'm working on getting a crew out there". Keep in mind, no one has ever communicated that this is out of scope or not their responsibility. It's been strictly apologies and empty promises. I finally left a message June 12th stating that I need a promised date for this to be resolved by 06/17. I have not heard back. I'm done. Home Genius did not fulfill their obligation of the contract. I'm sure now that I'm leaving bad reviews, suddenly this will matter to Home Genius. Sadly, that's exactly how this company works. Their BBB score is based on fixing problems once customers put them on blast.

These guys did a great job. They installed Hardie fiber cement siding on my house and replaced the aging gutters too. Everyone on their team was super professional, easy to reach when I had questions about timing or anything else, and the crew that installed the fiber cement was absolutely fantastic!! It took about 2 weeks to get the siding installed and throughout the process their attention to detail was really impressive. They caught every single detail as they were wrapping up, took the time to address weird areas that had been bugging us for years, and transformed our house. I couldn't be happier with the end product. Highly recommended!! (note, two of the photos are in-progress shots, our home didn't have any sort of vapor barrier before + the old siding had some wear & tear!)
