- JSJudith Swiger3 days ago1.0We would not recommend Shanklin for AC problems. We had problems with our AC unit keeping up with the recent heat wave and, because we just recently moved into this home, were unsure whether our system was ok or not. Initially, we were told that more freon was needed, then later were told a replacement part was needed, not to use the AC until the part was available, and were given a repair estimate of over $ 1900. Fortunately, I have 2 adult sons who were trying to guide us with this issue and they arranged for a second opinion from another company. That 2nd opinion occured within an hour after the first one and we were told that our AC unit was operating as it should and he could find no issues with it. He explained that some units were having a rough time keeping up with the unusually high temperatures. I have tried to communicate with Shanklin and my emails have failed to reach them. Their tech was professional and patient in trying to answer our questions, but his assessment of our 7 year old AC unit was not accurate.
- AEA EJul 2, 20265.0Our A/C went out in the middle of the night. I called the next day first thing & they had someone here by the afternoon. Our tech, Tom, was extremely courteous & explained everything that was going on, how he was going to fix it, and how we should maintain our A/C system. Tom was very knowledgeable & answered all our questions. After our first experience using Shanklin, I can't recommend them and their tech, Tom, enough!
