On this hot holiday weekend, we unfortunately had our outside ac unit shut off. I called around to different heating and cooling companies and all were booked up to 4 days or more days. With a pregnant wife and pup in the house we couldn’t wait up to 4 days. I called One Hour and they were able to get someone out to me the very next day and when I say I was relieved to have someone come out to check the issue I was so thankful.
We were blessed to have Jason B. come out and take a look. He was able to give us a diagnostic breakdown and was very knowledgeable. He not once pressured us to buy or purchase something we didn’t need. He helped us find the best option, and because of his great work and ability. Our unit is working on cooling itself down. Thank you Jason for your hard work and your military service. Happy 4th of July weekend!

Technician showed up late. I initiated the communication regarding arrival time and THSTS when I was told he was going to be late. He was a nice guy but was unfamiliar with how to program my thermostat and said I need a new one. I said he could provide one of your company’s thermostat and install it for $600. No Thank You!
I’m going to have someone else look at it and see if I actually need a new one.

The technician Bobby replaced the capacitor for the Air conditioner that wasn’t cooling. After replacing the capacitor he ran another check and noticed the Air conditioner still wasn’t cooling. He then proceeded to quote me $9,400 for a new system, and did not go up to the Attic to do a thorough review because it was over 103 degrees. I called another HVAC company for a quote thinking I needed a new A/C. The new HVAC went up and looked at the attic and noted it wasn’t cooling because the return blower wasn’t attached. If Bobby had went into attic he would have seen the real issue. Instead he wanted to sell me a whole new system $9,400. No thanks I will not use One hour services again!!! Be ware

I recently had my system serviced by another company. I didn't trust the advice I was given, quoting $3500 in repairs, I elected not to move forward. A few weeks later, the system was acting up and I called One Hour for a second opinion. I was given a window for the following day. Bobby showed up within the window and not only was a nice pleasant guy, he was honest, which is the first time in YEARS I've felt like I could trust my HVAC tech. If I EVER have a need again, I will call and request Bobby.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel like I need to share our experience so other families know to always get a second opinion.
Our central AC stopped cooling, and because we have an infant and a teenager at home, we were worried about getting our house comfortable again as quickly as possible. One Hour Heating and Cooling was the first company willing to come out on a Saturday morning, which we appreciated.
However, the technician looked at our system and immediately told us that our unit was low on Freon (after we mentioned to him first that we thought that could be the issue) and that because it was an older system, they did not carry that type of refrigerant. He said we needed a completely new HVAC system and quoted us approximately $14,000. We were shocked by the price but initially believed him. He also charged us $100 just for him to look at it for two seconds and tell us all of that.
Something didn’t feel right, so we decided to get a second opinion. Another HVAC technician came out a few days later, inspected the system, and discovered that the issue was simply a melted wire. It was a quick repair, and our AC has been running perfectly ever since. We were also told that our system was not low on refrigerant at all.
When the second technician reviewed the estimate we were given, he pointed out that the quote appeared to be only for an AC replacement, not a complete heating and cooling system, and he provided us a significantly lower quote for a full system replacement if we ever actually needed one.
After we declined the $14,000 estimate, the original technician texted my husband saying that we should make a decision soon because the price would increase if we waited. That felt like unnecessary pressure during an already stressful situation.
I understand that mistakes can happen, but being told we needed a $14,000 replacement when the actual problem was a simple wire repair was extremely upsetting. We are incredibly thankful that we trusted our instincts and got another opinion.
My advice to anyone facing a major HVAC repair or replacement: always get a second opinion. It could save you thousands of dollars.
