  Today we had Doug B and Nigel come out to work on a big project of fixing and replacing a kitchen faucet and drainpipes along with installing 3 new toilets and a pedestal sink in one of the three bathrooms. Both of these individuals were amazing and quick in the work. They were extremely knowledgeable and efficient. They were great in all areas they worked on and explained everything in detail before, during and after the work. They were very professional and cleaned up after every project leaving us with no worries and a clean area. I will recommend J&J to people I know and the two technicians that did such an amazing job. Thanks J&J. Your work was at a great price and performed quickly and efficiently. We thank you and your staff for everything.

  JNJ plumbing bought out Hey Neighbor, who installed a Train A/C unit in my home 4 years ago. (Hey Neighbor, no longer in business, was an incredible, hands-on company who really cared about their customers). This year my AC unit is not working correctly. My house stays at 84• most days. Made at least six or seven calls to JNJ plumbing, each time only to get an answering service that was full and could not accept messages. After a week of 92° heat, I finally reached someone at JNJ plumbing this morning. The lady was curt, rude and short with me. She kept saying she did not understand my questions regarding the warranty. Train clearly has a five-year warranty. I repeatedly asked if they were honoring the contract I made with Hey Neighbor to which she finally said no. She proceeded to list all the fees I would incur, to even have someone come out. And then more fees to diagnose. And then more fees for repair, parts and labor. (On a 4 year old Train with a warranty). So I have to start from scratch, after purchasing a new unit four years ago. Rude staff and poor, uninterested customer care (if you are even able to speak to a person.) Don’t trust the high reviews. (Even though they will probably attempt to justify all of this in their retort). Buyer Beware. Update: Shanklin Heating, Air Conditioning and Electric answered immediately and sent someone out the same day. Wonderful, friendly attentive staff. I’ll be doing business with them. Update: While Shanklin was diagnosing my AC unit, JNJ actually called my HOME phone. The same rude lady said she wanted to talk about my review. It was so very uncomfortable. I informed her that a technician from Shanklin was here, and that I would be going with them, and to please refrain from calling me again. I will be blocking their number going forward.   I had called a couple months ago because of water backing up and running out onto the basement floor. Thought that would be a priority appointment but I guess not. I called in the early morning hours but yet wanted to put me on the books for the next day. I don't know if the young gentleman was fresh out of high school but he seemed so lost over the phone. Even after trying to explain what was going on we still couldn't get an appointment that day. I told him no thanks and if I needed I would call him back....of course that wasn't happening. He was so worried and kept telling me if I called back my appointment slot would more than likely be lost. Good grief! That was all he was worried about. Needless to say we went with another plumber that was at our house within an hour. That's how you do business!

  I would not recommend J&J Plumbing. My six-year-old Rheem water heater started leaking, so I checked the warranty on Rheem’s website and confirmed that it was still covered. Rheem’s “Find a Pro” tool directed me to J&J Plumbing. When J&J called, I gave them the model number, serial number, explained that the unit was leaking, and told them it was under warranty. Despite having all of that information, they still scheduled a service call. The next day, the technician took one quick look at the water heater and said they could not handle the warranty replacement because it was a Home Depot model. Instead, they tried to sell me one of their water heaters for $2,100 and then charged me a $99 service fee. None of this was explained over the phone, even though they already had the exact model and serial number and should have known they could not perform the warranty work. I later contacted Rheem directly, and they referred me to another company. That company came out, disconnected the water heater, took it to Home Depot, obtained the warranty replacement, and installed the new unit. J&J provided no repair or warranty service and charged me $99 for a visit that could have been avoided with a simple phone conversation.

  We had a severe issue with our breaker box one evening, and J & J was able to send Mason C. out that same night, even though it was outside their normal operating hours. Mason was very friendly and knowledgeable, and he took the time to clearly explain what had gone wrong and walk us through our options. He was able to schedule the repair for July 3, which was an observed holiday for them, and still got us back up and running. He also handled the follow-up appointment and made sure everything was completed properly and in line with the city and power company approval process. Mason was thorough, informative, and great to work with throughout the entire process. We really appreciated how quickly J & J responded and the quality of the service we received.
