I had a new furnace and AC installed today by Chris, Simon and Anthony from Nichols Electric and Plumbing and they were fantastic!! They worked in the heat and humidity all day and they still were kind, considerate, knowledgeable, efficient and explained the process very well. I felt very comfortable with them. Great price - the price was less than what they quoted! When does that ever happen!! They worked extremely well together as a team, collaborating and mentoring. Nichols Electric and plumbing did a great job installing my new HVAC system. I have had them do electrical and plumbing work in the past and now HVAC and I would definitely recommend them for any of their services. It was a pleasure working with Chris, Simon and Anthony! Thank you!

Called Nichols to get a quote for some major electrical damage that happened during a storm. They quickly dispatched their associate, Caleb, who did a diligent job assessing the damage and presenting me with several routes they could take to fix it. Due to their speed, responsiveness, and professionalism, I ended up selecting them over other companies. On the day of the job, Nate and Connor were extremely efficient and professional! They walked me through all of the work they had done and gave me opportunities to ask questions. I would certainly recommend Nichols, and will be looking to them again for any electrical work I need done in the future.

My spouse and I have used your company for several electrical projects over the years, which is why this experience was so disappointing. We’d like to understand what happened and hopefully resolve it. Our electrical sump pump, which is plugged into a GFCI outlet, began tripping it while the washer and dehumidifier continued working normally. We even replaced the GFCI outlet ourselves, but the new outlet produced the same result, leading us to believe the sump pump itself was the problem. Meanwhile, our water-powered backup sump pump has been running, resulting in a very high water bill. We have since run an extension cord up to the first floor to keep it working for now. When my husband called, he explained that we preferred to have a plumber come first. The customer service representative recommended starting with an electrician instead. Knowing there would be a service fee, my husband specifically asked whether that fee could be waived if it ultimately turned out to be a plumbing issue. He was told they would speak with the owner about making that arrangement if necessary. Since your company offers both electrical and plumbing services, we trusted that recommendation. The electrician was excellent. After I showed him we had already replaced the GFCI outlet, he confirmed the issue appeared to be with the sump pump and said there was nothing electrical to repair. When I asked about waiving the service fee since the issue was plumbing-related, he contacted the owner but was told no. After I explained what my husband had been told when scheduling the appointment, the electrician agreed that if we had been persuaded to start with electrical despite preferring plumbing, that should be looked into. He attempted to contact the office but couldn’t reach anyone before leaving. My husband later spoke with the customer service representative, who reiterated that the issue sounded electrical based on their previous conversation. My husband reminded them that they had also offered to speak with the owner about waiving the fee since he felt we needed a plumber. They said they would contact the owner, but we never received a follow-up. We decided to pause before scheduling a plumber because we would like to see this situation resolved first. We understand why service fees exist and respect the costs involved. Our concern isn’t the fee itself, it’s that we relied on the company’s recommendation after expressing wanting a plumber first. We specifically asked about the service fee because we wanted reassurance that if the recommendation turned out to be incorrect, the company would help make it right. Normally we would have waited to contact management directly before leaving a review. However, with heavy rain in the forecast, concern about our basement flooding, and the continued expense of relying on the backup water powered sump pump if the electric one breaks fully, we felt we couldn’t wait indefinitely for a response. We are sharing this because we hope it can be resolved. We value the work your company has done for us in the past and would like to continue recommending Nichols. We also hope this experience encourages a review of how these situations are handled. Whether that’s improving troubleshooting over the phone or reviewing any opportunities to improve the service fee structure. As a fellow business owner, I know mistakes happen and appreciate when my clients bring concerns forward so trust can be restored. I hope we can do the same here, and that we’ll feel comfortable continuing to use your company in the future.

We had a weird and random issue with our TV cutting out for a moment. Ethan and his partner were determined to find out what it was. Eventually they did and it ended up being a short extension HDMI cable run to our TV. The cable that was run from the basement was about 6" shy so the people that installed our new TV used a short cable to bridge the gap. We were able to get 6" of cable pushed up and were able to connect to the TV directly. As I said it was a puzzle to all of us and they stuck with it until they found it. They were also on time, very friendly, easy to work with. LOVED them.

I initially contacted Nichols about having heat cables installed on my house to prevent ice-dam formations (it was quite bad in the 25-26 winter). They were able to quickly schedule a free estimate. During the estimate the estimator was a consummate professional! He walked me through every step of the process of the install, where everything would need to be placed and screwed in, and answered all my questions. We then went to my electric panel and had a discussion. I talked about having it replaced in the future. He looked it over and instead of trying to up-sale me he said it was in good shape and most likely didn't need replacement. If I did want more space on my panel (which I did) the best way would be to have a sub panel put in - he should be the options - it was ~$5500 cheaper than a panel upgrade. So I went with that option. They were able to schedule the work for a few days after the estimation. They showed up at ~9:30am (there were two an apprentice and an electrician; both of whom were amazing!). We walked over the project area and talked over the scope once more, and they got to work. When they got to my main panel I asked about my existing brakes and the electrician pointed out one out as being higher risk and recommended replacement as it (the type from the 70/80s) dones trip when it needs to. They wrapped everything up by 2pm. They did a fantastic job! They left the area clean, they made sure all the wires were tidy and crisp. They were the best contract company I've ever had the pleasure of working with - and they had great rates.
