  I can’t recommend Head’s Excavating enough! We recently hired them for a septic system upgrade and the whole experience was fantastic. They showed up right on time, stuck strictly to the budget they quoted us, and did an amazing job. What really blew me away was how clean they left the site—you’d barely even know they were just digging up the yard for an upgrade. Friendly, professional, and local. If you need septic or excavation work done around Ithaca, these are your people!

  My spouse and I had to replace our exterior water line. The City had found a lead pipe on their side of our water service and wanted to replace and repair it. The City would dig up the street. My contractor would have to dig up our lawn to the foundation to let our plumber put in a new line. I interviewed a number of excavator contractors. Head’s was the only one among them to quote the “dig it out, and fill it in” job and provide a full review of all the things that might go wrong with the work. He earned our trust with that explanation. It helped that his pricing was very competitive too. The work was completed in less than a day. None of the “might have gone wrong’s” went wrong. The excavated lawn has been put together, seeded and mulched. We couldn’t be happier. I’d heartily recommend Head’s to other homeowners with similar needs.

  I needed to divert water that was flowing from a badly designed drainage running from the property above mine. Heads excavating came up with a simple plan and did the work with meticulous care and skill. I would highly recommend them

  Initially, we had another company come out because our septic pump seemed to have stopped. The other company said that we had to have the tank pumped out before they could assess the pump. I called Patrick Head. He said he didn't do pumping but would look at the situation and arrived in less than an hour. He pulled up the pump cover and asked if the breaker had been thrown. Voila! For now, that issue is solved! Brilliant! Friendly and professional!

  Patrick does excellent work. Dug and installed the French drain system on my house, created a flat rise in the yard for a play structure, and expanded the driveway as well. A good communicator, also very prompt and professional, a rarity in any contracting or sub-contracting work! Definitely recommend.
