  I am not a professional by any means when it comes to home projects. I had decided to build a fairly large deck with help with friends that are professionals. I had heard great things about Stockham and decided to purchase $5000.00 in lumber to tackle this project. Upon receiving the lumber, I noticed bowing in the wood. As we had gotten into the project we had found wood that was cracked(could not use and thrown out) massive crowning, decking boards the were cut at an angle by 1/4”. The decking boards varied in width size up to an inch. I was short 4x4 for the railing, short bolts and short post covers. This project was designed by me with the help of Stockham. It took massive amounts of time to get this deck right with the lumber that was provided. I am having to spend a lot more money on missing material as well as decent wood to correct the garbage that was sent to me. I will never purchase from Stockham again. The quality of lumber(as I see) is no better than Lowe’s or homedepot. The difference is, I can pick what I want the those stores.
