  Home Power Systems responded to my service request in 1 day. I have a 20HP Kohler Generator. The senior service Mike Catalano was terrific. He identified and resolved the problem quickly.

  I've had my home power system generator for about 6 years now and have been totally satisfied with the maintenance and the competence of the staff. I would highly recommend them if you're thinking about doing a whole house generator.

  I purchased a Briggs & Stratton model 040657 on 1/3/2024 at the same time My sister bought the exact same unit from home power systems. We ordered them together.. Installation was fantastic so professionally done guys were great. I was extremely happy. Nothing could’ve gone better as far as I’m concerned. That’s when I started having problems with the unit. I also want to say my sister to this point has the exact same unit that I have and has had no problems but here’s what happened. 1/22/24 unit came on for its weekly test for 45 seconds and shut off. I called HPS the very next day & Tom from HPS came out THE SAME DAY and thought that it was the firmware that needed to be updated which he did.. unit worked fine for its weekly test up until. 2-5-24 Power unit didn’t come on for its weekly test at all Called HPS got Melissa and she said they’re really backed but only 2 days later Mike Catalano came out worked on something I don’t really recall what it was but the system worked fine for its weekly checks up until.. 9-4-25 Power unit didn’t come on for its weekly test called HPS & the NEXT DAY Tom Gangross Came out and said the problem maybe was with the starter which he worked on and thought that was the proble. 9-9-25 Unit didn’t come on for its weekly test called HPS At which time they said they ordered a starter and would have it in shortly.. 9-11-25 Tom G came out and replaced both the starter and the controller. The controller didn’t really fail but they replaced it anyway and this is the part that I really liked because they knew down the line it could be the controller and he replaced it BEFORE IT FAILED that was the part I really liked because it was an expensive part and they replaced it for me. The machine has worked flawlessly since then coming on every week for its trial run and just two weeks ago I lost power for the very first time the unit came on immediately and I had power until RG&E solved the problem AT WHICH TIME THE UNIT POWERED DOWN EXACTLY AS IT SHOULD HAVE… Since that date it has come on each week for it’s Check.. I know it’s a lot of information to put here but the point is when you buy a expensive product it’s not just the installation It’s how they handle problems AFTER INSTALLATION & HPS handled my problems 100% in an extremely professional manner, the girls on the phone were fantastic. The people in the back with technical service were fantastic. Also I have no relations of mine or frieds working at HPS and this is 100% true and there’s nothing in it for me in telling you that the story other than you can Purchase a unit from this company, and if there is a problem, you can rely on them to take care of you 100%… Of course, my sister‘s exact same unit has worked flawlessly and she’s lost her power twice.. Bottom line you can trust HPS for a fair price, I got quotes from three other companies HPS was where I decided to go, and I’m glad I did Thanks for listening.   Kiel, the technician who performed maintenance on my standby generator, provided exceptional service from start to finish. He arrived on time, after calling to confirm his arrival, conducted himself with professionalism, and demonstrated a high level of technical expertise throughout the visit. The work was carried out efficiently, with clear attention to detail, and he took the time to ensure everything was operating properly before leaving. I especially appreciated his courteous manner and willingness to answer my questions. It’s clear that he takes pride in his work and in providing excellent customer service. I also appreciated that he could complete signing me up for another three-year maintenance agreement, saving me the effort of calling HPS.
