- DFDan FandavroJul 27, 20262.0I got to say I've been a big fan of Truckee Tahoe lumber for a few years now. I've used them in the past and was happy to pay a premium knowing that I was going to get much better quality Lumber than your big box type stores. However this last buy I was very disappointed. Just about every one of my 2 by 8 by 8 Footers have waney edges, huge knots, and splits that extend beyond 12 inches on the end. I got some 16 Footers and several them were split one and a half to 2 ft along the end as well. Although I will say ironically the two by 8 by 16s were in much better condition than the 8 footers. Looks like they tried to squeeze out every last board inch out of each and every tree. Totally unlike the lumber I've purchased from them in the past. I've heard they've changed owners recently. I wonder if this is a way of recouping the cost of that purchase. If this continues I might as well just go to the big box stores.

Derek helped identify a higher quality option that saved us money and was available sooner than what our contractor had 1st picked out. They also offered quick and free delivery of everything which was really helpful! Already recommended them to someone else considering redoing their deck!
