How long does it typically take to repair a window?
The time it takes to repair a window depends on the type and extent of damage. Repairing fogged double-pane windows or fixing seals generally takes 1-2 business days. Delux Windows and Glass has a similar turnaround time for non-tempered units at 1-2 days. More complex windows, such as a new retrofit window or patio door frames, can take 3-4 weeks.
As a proud manufacturer of our own dual-pane and single-pane units in our advanced glass shop, we can offer residential window glass repair services with some of the fastest turnaround times in Las Vegas. From measurement to installation, we strive to deliver fast glass repair services for all of Las Vegas.
What is the average cost of window repair in Las Vegas, Nevada?
The average window repair cost in Las Vegas, Nevada, varies based on factors like repair type and window/glass size. We recommend obtaining a detailed estimate from a trusted window repair service like Delux Windows and Glass. As a proud manufacturer of our own dual-pane and single-pane units, we can offer residential window glass repair services at highly competitive pricing. We can provide a free glass replacement estimate by phone or in-home visit. Our estimates are always free!
Can window cracks be repaired, or do I need a new window?
Any broken or cracked window glass must be replaced with a new dual-pane or single-pane window. Contrary to popular belief, there is no option to repair a cracked window. Delux Windows and Glass offers quick and affordable glass replacement services, ensuring high-quality results for your home. As a local glass shop, we specialize in replacing residential glass, providing fast and reliable solutions for all your window glass needs.
What are the signs that my windows need to be replaced?
Signs that your windows may need to be replaced include:
- Persistent drafts around closed windows, even after attempting to seal them.
- Condensation or fogging between double-pane windows.
- High energy bills despite conservation efforts.
- Visible damage such as cracks, decayed frames, or difficulty opening and shutting windows.
- Excessive outside noise entering your space
- Damaged hardware, such as hinges, handles, or cranks that are broken or non-functional.
When you notice these signs, trust Delux Windows and Glass to step in to secure your windows. We offer expert solutions that ensure your home remains safe, energy-efficient, and beautiful.
What should I do if my window won't open or close properly?
If your window isn’t opening or closing correctly, start by checking to see if debris or obstructions are blocking the window's tracks or hinges. Next, try lubricating the tracks and hinges with silicone spray or applying a small amount of wax to help them move more smoothly.
If the problem persists, avoid forcing the window, as it could cause further damage. Instead, contact Delux Windows and Glass for professional assistance. Our experienced technicians know how to diagnose and repair window operation issues efficiently, ensuring your windows are fully functional.
Will repairing my windows improve energy efficiency?
It can. Repairing windows can greatly improve energy efficiency by fixing issues like drafts, damaged seals, or single-pane glass. Well-sealed windows prevent air leaks, easing the strain on your heating and cooling systems and cutting down on energy costs. Upgrading worn-out seals or installing double-pane or energy-efficient windows can also boost insulation, ensuring more stable indoor temperatures throughout the year.
For expert guidance on improving your home's energy efficiency through window repair, trust Delux Windows and Glass to deliver effective solutions tailored to your needs.

What are retrofit windows, and how do they differ from new construction windows?
Retrofit windows fit into existing window frames without requiring extensive modifications to the surrounding structure. Unlike new construction windows, which are installed during the building or remodeling process, retrofit windows are installed by removing the old sash and inserting a new window unit into the existing frame. This makes retrofit windows a convenient and cost-effective option for upgrading your home's windows, offering improved energy efficiency and aesthetic appeal without significant renovations.
Are there any special maintenance requirements for retrofit windows compared to standard windows?
Retrofit windows generally require the same maintenance as standard windows. We recommend regular cleaning of glass and frames, inspection of seals and weatherstripping for wear or damage, and occasional hardware lubrication.
What type of retrofit windows do you offer? Can I customize the appearance of retrofit windows to match my home's aesthetic?
Delux Windows and Glass offers Alpine flush fin retrofit windows, ideal for upgrading old single- or dual-pane windows without stucco or drywall damage. Available in white, almond, and clay colors with various glass options, these windows enhance aesthetics and energy efficiency. They include both frame and glass replacement, allowing customization in frame colors, grid patterns, and hardware finishes to match your home's aesthetic.
What are new construction windows, and how do they differ from retrofit or replacement windows?
New construction windows are designed for installation during a home's initial construction or major remodeling. They include the entire window frame and are typically secured directly to the house's framing. This installation method requires removing the exterior siding and possibly interior finishes to properly integrate the window into the structure. In contrast, retrofit or replacement windows are installed into existing window openings without extensive modifications to the surrounding walls.
What type of new construction windows do you offer? Can I customize the appearance of retrofit windows to match my home's aesthetic?
At Delux Windows and Glass, we proudly offer Alpine new construction (nail fin) windows explicitly designed for installation during the framing stage of new builds. A nail fin window features a flange around the outer edge, allowing it to be securely attached to the framing of a building for enhanced stability and weather resistance. These windows provide the perfect combination of durability and aesthetic appeal, integrating seamlessly into new construction projects.
Additionally, our extensive selection of customization options for retrofit windows allows you to match them to your home's aesthetic, with choices in frame colors, grid patterns, and hardware finishes, ensuring a perfect fit for your design preferences.
What Do-It-Yourself options do you offer?
For handy homeowners, Delux Windows and Glass offers convenient DIY Dual-Pane Replacement options. By making an appointment, you can bring your window frame, typically the sliding panel, to our shop, and we will manufacture and install a new dual-pane or single-pane glass right into your frame. The process takes about an hour and a half, making it a quick and cost-effective solution for residential glass replacement. Please call ahead to confirm availability and schedule an appointment.
We recommend opting for our professional, in-home services for tempered, custom glass, or unusual sizes. These types of windows are best serviced at the property.
What tools will I need to complete the DIY replacement?
You will need some essential tools to replace DIY window glass. We recommend:
1. Work gloves - For handling broken glass and protecting your hands.
2. Safety goggles - To protect your eyes from shards of glass.
3. Utility knife - For cutting through old caulking or sealant.
4. Putty knife or chisel - To carefully remove the old glass and clean the frame.
5. Caulking gun - To apply window-grade sealant for a tight seal.
6. Window-grade sealant - For sealing the new glass in place.
7. Screwdriver - For removing and replacing any window hardware.
8. Tape measure - To ensure accurate measurements for the new glass pane.
9. Suction cup lifter - To safely handle and position the new glass.
Do you offer emergency window repair services? Are you available 24/7 in case of an emergency?
Yes, Delux Windows and Glass offers emergency window repair services to address urgent situations involving broken or damaged windows promptly. While we do not provide 24/7 service, our team can respond quickly to your needs during regular business hours. We offer a range of solutions, including board-ups, next-day dual-pane replacements, and, depending on the unit type, same-day service to ensure your home is secure and safe as quickly as possible.
What situations are considered window repair emergencies?
Regarding urgent window or glass door repair needs, several situations require immediate attention to ensure your home's safety, security, and integrity. A few examples include:
1. Shattered or Broken Glass - A window that is completely destroyed or has large, dangerous shards of glass.
2. Window Damage from Burglary or Forced Entry - Damage caused by a break-in that leaves your home vulnerable to intruders.
3. Severe Storm or Weather Damage - Windows broken or cracked due to high winds, hail, or flying debris. Windows that break during extremely hot or cold weather, impacting the home's internal temperature and safety.
4. Water Leakage - Significant water intrusion through broken or damaged windows, leading to potential water damage inside the home.
5. Broken or Inoperable Locks - Window locks that are damaged, making it impossible to secure the window properly.
