  I hired American Pumping to install a septic tank so I could put my home on the market. My spouse passed away unexpectedly on April 11, and I signed the contract on April 14. I made it very clear that I needed the work completed as quickly as possible so I could move forward with selling the house. American Pumping assured me that they would begin as soon as the permit was approved. Over the following weeks, I called twice to check on the status and was told that they were still waiting for the county to issue the permit. Concerned about the delay, I contacted Bernalillo County directly and was surprised to learn that no permit application had been submitted by American Pumping. When I confronted the company, I was given explanations that did not match the information provided by the county. Within two days, American Pumping finally provided proof that a permit application had been submitted; however, the document showed that it had been filed on May 5, nearly three weeks after I signed the contract. What disappointed me most was not the delay itself, but the lack of honesty and accountability. Rather than acknowledging the delay and apologizing, I received multiple conflicting explanations about what had happened. To the county's credit, the staff were understanding of my situation. They visited the property and approved the permit within a week. Once the permit was issued, American Pumping completed the work promptly and the installation itself was satisfactory. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by poor communication and what I felt was a lack of compassion during an already difficult time in my life. As a grieving widow trying to handle a major life transition, I expected greater transparency and professionalism.

  Thanks to Roberta DuBois for getting our inspection and pump out scheduled in a timely fashion. In addition, she responded to all of the many questions I asked. She was super helpful.

  Do not give this business your money. They have the rudest staff managing their appointments. They made numerous schedule changes and mistakes. Then got rude when I called them out for it. One of the worst business that I have ever dealt with. You have been warned.
