Fried was 1996 when I needed to replace the carpet on the first floor of my home. They took the time to understand my needs and recommended a carpet that would hold up under heavy foot traffic. It cost a bit more than I originally planned—but nearly 30 years later, it still looks as good as the day it was installed. That alone speaks volumes about the quality they provide. **Tip:** The secret to keeping any carpet looking fresh is regular professional cleaning. Since then, I’ve continued to use G. Fried whenever I needed carpeting or replacements in other areas of my home. Most recently, on May 1, 2026, I had a runner installed on the stairs leading to my new basement. When I visited their Route 17 showroom in Paramus, I was impressed to see an entire section dedicated to stair carpeting, including displays and videos showcasing their work. The results were outstanding. The very first person to use the stairs commented on how comfortable they felt—thanks to the plush padding. Once again, G. Fried delivered exceptional workmanship in both the carpet and the installation. G. Fried offers a huge selection, so there’s no need to shop anywhere else.
