My husband and I walked into the showroom and were immediately greeted by a staff member. Sayla was kind and thorough as she asked us about our upcoming remodel. She took the time to understand what we were looking for, walked us through all of our options, and made the entire process feel easy and stress-free. We never felt rushed or pressured, and her recommendations were spot on. Though we still have some consideration to do, we look forward to coming back and working with the her to curate the floor of our dreams!

I expected better from this company. From tack strips stabbing my feet in the hallway, damaging my newly enameled tub, and the flooring installer leaving the job before he finished. I gave the company the opportunity to have redo the floor trim which they did. But do I really have to watch them this closely every step of the way? Top tier pricing with bottom bidder installer and sales persons that are misleading.

If you look at all of my other Google reviews, you see all 4-5 star reviews. I am pretty easy to please. Everything started well. I would give 5 stars to Jeanie, our salesperson. She was helpful, patient, and wonderful to work with in the store. After meeting with James and receiving his installation estimate we were ready to make a decision on tiling our 2 bathrooms and our kitchen/ mudroom floor. Avalon's estimate came in a good bit higher than our other bids, but I said to my wife that I felt that Avalon would do the job right and get the job done quickly. Unfortunately, I was completely wrong on both counts. Work began April 10th. By the end of the day on Monday, the tile was complete but the grout was only half complete. Our kitchen floor was a basket weave layout with a historic looking brick tile that was supposed to be random. The tiler matched the tiles in pairs which looked ridiculous. We contacted our project manager with our concerns as to when the pattern could be fixed and when they would return to finish the grout. Our cabinet installers and appliances couldn’t be delivered until the job was complete. We never received a reply. Two weeks went by with no contact from Avalon while we lived with a partially finished kitchen floor. A different tiler arrived at the two week mark to begin installation of the master bathroom tiles. He did outstanding work, however, our washer and dryer were scheduled to be delivered and installed, we still did not have the floor grouted in the kitchen/ mudroom. We contacted Avalon several times that week to notify them of our dilemma and timeline and got no reply. The morning of the delivery, I asked the bathroom tiler if he could finish the grout in the kitchen. He informed us that he would have to have approval from Avalon. Since we hadn’t received any replies from our project manager, we called our sales person Jeanie. She was able to get it approved, but by the time Avalon contacted the tiler, the washer and dryer had been delivered and were now sitting outside on our porch uninstalled. The problem of the matched tiles was still not addressed however. We were also informed by the bathroom tiler that the estimator did not order enough of the pencil trim tiles to finish our bathroom shower niche. He would not be back until they arrived. The bathroom shower looked fantastic for what was finished except some for some unfinished grout and some small details. I am going to guess that was because he was pulled off the bathroom job to finish our kitchen floor. At this point, the business we ordered our kitchen appliances from cancelled our order due to the multiple delays and would no longer give us the sale price. Our appliances ended up costing us an additional $1000. A month after our kitchen began, our project manager said someone would be out to remedy the pattern issue. We insisted on meeting with a manager prior to expressing our concerns and displeasure with the work and lack of communication. He assured us the job would be completed the following day. The tile pattern was not fixed that day. We contacted the project manager again. Zero reply. I happened to be home 5 days later when the tiler showed up unannounced. He did excellent work fixing the pattern and the kitchen floor was finally completed four weeks later 6 weeks now and our bathroom is still unfinished. We were told the 3 pencil tiles that are needed to finish the inside of our shower, will not be ordered until enough customers order more. If they don’t order our tile, I guess our shower niche will remain unfinished indefinitely. We haven’t heard from Avalon in 3 weeks. My wife contacted our salesperson, Jeanie, and she did get back to us, but we still don’t have any answers as to Avalon finishing the job. So here we are with an unfinished job approaching 8 weeks and we are out $22,000. We will not be using Avalon for the second bathroom and decided to have our shower doors completed by someone else. I will never use Avalon again.

I found a shower tile on line that I picked out with my Mom ,for my bathroom shower, one month after picking it out my Mother sadly passed away. I was all set to order it from the company online until I read the reviews which said customer service was terrible trying to return things was terrible and that frequently the tiles arrived damaged and broken. At that point I wanted something as close as possible to the tile my Mom and I picked out because the fact that we had picked it out together, it had become very sentimental to me after losing her. I looked at quite a few tile stores and no one had anything even close. I decided to stop at Avalon‘s new store in Mays Landing, where I met Joe Stone he not only listened to what I was looking for he listened to why, and also expressed his sympathy at the loss of my Mom he could not have worked harder or been more compassionate long story short we did find a tile very close to what my Mom and I had picked out and I saved quite a bit of money on the tile that I purchased from Avalon. If you’re looking for a beautiful showroom with hundreds of choices and someone who will go to all lengths to find you what you’re looking for , stop in Avalon Flooring and Tile and ask for Joe .
