  We hired Nuss to complete a second story master suite addition over our two-car garage while also expanding our current second story bathroom. It was a big project and we wished to complete some of the minor finishing touches ourselves to mitigate some of the cost. We worked with John Colaianni, their project consultant, to hammer out the details. He was incredibly patient and flexible and presented us with countless options to better circumvent some of the cost factor and make this renovation a reality. The project started on-time and at this point our primary point of contact became one of Nuss project managers. We had no issues initially but further into the project, we did encounter some hiccups related to communication. For instance, a lot of the conversation about cost mitigation seemed to be lost in the handover between John and the project manager. We were always able to sort this out but it was just an underlying theme throughout the project. Also, at a certain point, the main project manager seemed to change and a different project manager from Nuss would show up each day. Overall, this was not a major issue but further compounded upon the issue of communication because it was never clear who to address our questions and if discussions we had one day would need to be re-established with another project manager the next day. While communication did present a minor inconvenience to us, I was able to meet with John again during the tail-end of the project. I expressed my concerns to him on communication and he listened and heard me out. He accepted the responsibility on behalf of Nuss and committed to using my feedback as a learning to better support future customers. And I do believe he was sincere. Most importantly, the workmanship and the final product is exactly what we hoped for. All inspections passed the first round, Nuss was diligent and we are now happily all moved in to our new space. I would highly recommend Nuss to my neighbors. The only reason for this 4 start review vs. the 5 start review is the communication aspect which I expect to be much improved for new customers.

  Nuss Construction is the best. Remodeling, or any kind of renovation, (whether big or small) can be very stressful- but having them as my contractor really helped alleviate the majority of my concerns and I will definitely be calling them for any future renovation needs. Very high integrity.

  Nuss helped with my crawlspace issues. We had a sagging main beam that was creating cracks around doors and windows in my home. There was water in crawlspace. They dug a french drain, installed sump pump , and placed 6 support jacks to support main beam. They were extremely easy to work with from start to finish. They came out, were straightforward, flexible with the scope of the job, and did exactly what they said they would. The quality of workmanship was excellent. I would not hesitate to call them again for projects in the future. I have worked with many contractors in the area, and they seem to fall short in one area or another (initial response, delays in work, communication, workmanship, cleanup). Nuss nailed it!
